As with all complex issues, the solution is not simple. Japan is a rather socially conservative country. The Japanese government is not emasculating men and masculinising women, incentivising divorce, or encouraging single motherhood and hook-up culture. Why is it so bad if the birth rates decline?

I find it very refreshing how seriously people take having children and raising them (in the USA) to a level that is beyond anything our grandparents did. No longer do we turn a blind eye to the neglectful and selfish parents. We deeply care how our children turn out. No, we can’t just leave a baby in a crib or send a 4 year old off to “play in the neighborhood” all day long. We are creating well rounded and healthy humans.

Our world is polluted by the people in it currently. The birth control and accessibility to abortion makes sure that most babies born (in the US) are truly wanted, healthier (thanks for vaccines and modern medicine), well cared for and generally better off than their predecessors.

We may have less population but we would make up for it with educated and all over healthier people. I personally think is better than just incessant breeding.

Quality over quantity.

A major factor in this is the Family Courts on Divorce. A lot of guys a checking out of Marriage because of the fear that their lives might be destroyed. I didn't really realize this until I was having a conversation with my friends and every single one of them didn't want to get married or just have a traditional marriage or long term relationship. Mind you I come from a very traditional and conservative country and everyone of my friends also come from traditional homes aswell. My friends are very traditional and are "HVM" (We all in S.T.E.M and Business). We come from a culture were Chivalry is very important. But then seeing All this is crazy considering the fact that we were not brought up in a western/Modern Society. My take is it will only get worse. There Will be a lot of childless adults and single mothers in the future.

Full text: I was watching a few videos on the topic of declining birth rates in China and Japan. The governments are becoming desperate because they need to replace the aging workforce and get that cheese, but people don't want to get married and have children. They don't even want to have sex, and the governments acts like they don't know how this happened and what to do about it.

The solutions are simple. Stop fucking people over. Make people more fuckable, make marriage more attractive, and make it possible to raise a family on one income while also allowing the father to have time in the home.

force companies to stop exploiting their workers
Stop feeding people soy, corn, and other crap that disrupts their hormones and makes them ugly
stop trying to emasculate men and masculinize women.
Stop incentivizing divorce
stop funding/encouraging single mother hood
shame hook up culture and sexual degeneracy
make cities more walkable and fund programs/events that allow people to get more exercise and socialize
make education more useful so kids are actually developing into functional adults
stop letting social media/entertainment companies psyop the public and encourage them to be terminally online
and stop robbing people of so much of their income.

Of course they're not going to do all of this because they'll lose so much money, and the ruling classes and corporations want their money now so they don't care about who takes power in the future. It would be nice to see this because it is possible, but not under the current regimes in power.

Really really interesting stuff. One thing they talk about is that the distribution of children among childbearing couples is relatively stable - it's the amount of people who are childless that are rapidly increasing. Most of whom (around 80% or so) are not intentionally childless, which is a tragedy.

It's not an simple as you suggest. This is happening everywhere, in every country that not located parts of Africa. There are very different diets, cultures, and policies across the globe.

I'm curious to see how the declining birth rates and the AI boom will intersect.

Your ideas are kind of contradictory. "Stop robbing people of their income" implies that you think taxes should be lower? Yet a few of your other ideas imply that government size/expenditure should increase.

Regardless of the nitpicks I may have - I think you are right about the general cause of the issues. And I'd say that if you can see what's coming, then prepare for it, and before you think about enforcing your ideals on others, live up to them yourself.

Are you eating healthy? Are you limiting your time online? Are you saving up a nest egg so you can teach your children/afford the right schools/tutors when the time comes? Are you planning to have children yourself?

The world may never be righted. You have to work around the problems. How can you implement your own goals and values in this world? I think even now, it is still possible, and all is not lost.

Micro plastics will also be/currently is a major problem. Linked to decreased fertility. I also think about how we can’t seem to give a shit about the planet but would love to increase the population anyways. I don’t understand the push to increase the population if our home isn’t even in order
