I do not see any problem with raising someone elses kids, if it is my choice. However, we all know that it is simply normal to want your own kids.

And no, there is absolutely no reason to adopt some single mothers kids and get yourself on hook. Best not to and to arrange things in a way that if you two break up, kids are absolutely not your problem, unless you want it to be-.

Make sure to test this by switching the babies for the top 1% and billionaires. They won't tell you but they routinely do a paternity test, from different sources as well, to confirm something as irrelevant as "biological paternity"... yet they tell you that you shouldn't follow suit.

I understand the rationale, but adoption is not easy. First, you better get used to hearing "you are not my parents!" if you adopt. Plus it is rightly much more expensive to adopt because there have been past cases where pedos adopt and groom kids. What needs to happen is for women to take equal responsibility for unwanted children by using birth control and not drinking or using drugs, because you cannot control your bodily urges when on controlled substances or alcohol. And yes, men should stop drinking and doing drugs too, and at this point should only ever talk to women if they really want to start a family.

Children have a right to know their lineage, Paternal and maternal.

In the event of sickness, children should recieve the best possible care. This includes knowledge of potentially inherited diseases.

Children should be assured to inherit their assigned parents. Not suddenly be faced with the reality of how their late father wasn't biologically theirs, and his family in turn makes a claim on the entire estate.

Children may lose access to someone that functionally was their father. He has no grounds to apply for joint custody when that paper which should have been filled at birth on how he accepts custody was never filled in the first place.

Don't mind me madam. I just took the opportunity to advocate for the children, which goes by making fatherhood testing mandatory, but best of luck in your other "men's attitude" campaign over yonder.

Sigh, I can remember when Wired used to be a good magazine.

I don't want kids, but if I did, I would want them to have my genes. I would like to think that my genes are fairly good, with one not-so-good one in there. But it would still be better than pulling a random pick out of the genetic lottery. My nephew adopted two children as babies. One turned out very well and the other one, has not been very well-behaved no matter what he and his s/o have done. He's very worried about him turning 16 in a couple of years and beginning to drive.

I mean, that's the whole concept of nature in the wild. The female mates with the strongest of the breed... in most cases. It's to constantly improve the animals' survival. Animals in the wild know no morals. See how well that works?
