It’s true. Covid accelerated what was already happening ; the gentrification and hollowing out of the downtown walkable areas of a city and an explosion in the growth of the suburbs.

I've read some histories of small towns in the western U.S. and am impressed with how they used to overcome the isolation of great distances. They would meet fairly often at community centers for dances, or picnics, etc. Sometimes the get togethers were at stores or homes, but many communities did have a grange hall or some kind of community space. These meetings were inclusive (meaning more age and somewhat economic status-wise; they didn't always get high marks for diversity). They created viable ways to get together via events and having a community space where everybody could attend and hang out without having to spend money.

I go out every weekend. Bars, restaurants, coffee shops etc are always full of people.

The simple fact is that being unsocial is going to fuck you over harder than anything else. if you don't have friends that has literally nothing to do with women being hypergamous or chad-chasers that's entirely a separate issue.

I met all my best friends in my mid 20s. We have done trips together, birthdays, orgies, met families. It’s not hard for everyone to make friends.

If you don’t meet someone in college or high school to marry, you’re pretty much fucked in this economy. I work remote and never leave the house. Even have my groceries delivered, so it’s not like I would even run into a woman at the grocery store.
