For some reason we're supposed to believe that women are always victimized more than men. Recently I've seen a lot of commercials for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW). While the goal is laudable, why are we gendering the problem when more men are murdered and missing? It's not a competition.

I’ve worked in film most of my life and it frustrates me how we set expectations that don’t make sense.

For instance, when characters who would make little money live in houses that don’t make sense. Like a New York City school teacher in a film living in a high-rise apartment in Manhattan. Yea! Right!

The problem is, these falsehoods hurt the viewers because they wonder, “What an I doing wrong??? I don’t have that life!” It’s mentally damaging.

Hollywood lies and has been lying about pretty much everything for the last hundred years. Wars are not cool. Native tribes were not the "bad guys". A lone 100 pounds woman cannot beat the shit out of half a dozen 6'4'', 250 pounds men in hand to hand combat. "Luuuv" do not conquer all. The whole industry is specialized in BS. Lots of famous directors also worked in commercials. Remember Ridley Scott with Apple or Steven Spielberg working for BP?

There are tons of things that "everyone knows" that are complete myths continually put forth to serve an agenda. Many of them have to do with women having it harder than men.

Women's power comes from the concept that they need to be compensated for any time they get hurt. So what do we never stop hearing about? The incredible number of things in the world that are hurting them and just them and not men, nope, men are definitely not being hurt by the same things.

Funny, though, how the more the world moves to shelter and accommodate and "compensate" them, the more things materialize that hurt them. And the less men get hurt by anything ever.

In the movie Death on the Nile (2022) a character said that the wives of pharaohs were buried alive with them when the pharaohs died

The movie is based on the English author Agatha Christie's book. The English used mummies for medical cannibalism, why would you trust anything they have to say about the Egyptians?
