I've been seeing this guy for almost 4 months, we get along very well and the more we get to know each other the more we like each other.

we are exclusive, he never asked me to be his girlfriend, but we just know that we are together I guess, we act like girlfriend and boyfriend, go on dates, and text daily so I assumed we were in a relationship.

today he was talking about wanting to be the fun single uncle to his friend's kids, I joked and told him single not so much but you'll definitely be a fun uncle, he just laughed then basically ghosted me the entire evening ( this interaction happened over texts).

I think I triggered his fear of commitment, was I too forward? was it too soon? or is he simply not ready?

I don't know if I'm being too much, it was just a lighthearted joke, and didn't mean for it to make him feel trapped
