You should take some blood tests first. Thyroid issues are very commonly behind hair loss. You could be suffering from telogen effluvium which is good because it just means your hair can grow back fast once the underlying issue is resolved

Rosemary oil and minoxidil are used to grow back hair too. Friend of mine swears by the first and has seen noteable growth with the first. That and fixing her thyroid issue

I'm assuming you're a guy. Bolding / thinning hair is a turn off in the dating world. But you know what's often times a turn on in the dating world? Shaving that weak hair completely off and owning your boldness. Or go for a very short buzz cut like Jason Statham. I doubt there's any good scientific evidence that such serums or shampoos or whatever you apply to your hair topically like the does anything to promote hair growth. There's only two proven methods as far as I'm aware: Hair transplants or taking pills (Finasteride for example). Both of which typically come with side effects. Unless you're a model or actor and you're dependent on your hair, I would just shave it off and own that shit. Just to give you some hope: I am a dating photographer and I've tested the pictures of hundreds of men on Photofeeler.com. One of the highest scoring males is a guy in his 40s who is completely bold. He scores above a 9 on attractiveness. I personally have okay hair and I can't get a score that high no matter which picture I use. So other things are apparently more important.

Wait......male/female?

If male, shave it clean off, rock a good beard, get buff, get game, get money. Women look past the baldness.

If female, the short answer is...sadly, yes. It'll matter way more.

For us (men), looks are more of a priority than for y'all.

Do your best. Keep working out. Don't be boring. Women these days know looks are their currency and don't need to be interesting/have a personality to get attention. Don't be one of them.

Eat right. Any nut/seed you can get your hands on. B12 supplement, D3 (preferably cod liver oil...if vegan, there are seaweed alternatives)

What you put in your body will matter way more than what goes ON your body.

Sunlight. I'd recommend a 30 minute jump rope workout in the sun.

Hey dude. Of course girls like guys with hair, they love to run their fingers through it. But it's not a complete deal breaker if you have other things to list and also good confidence or money. Still, my suggestion get it fixed somehow.

You should look into doing scalpmassage/stetches/pinches two times daily, might take you up to 8months to see results. Ive heard/read that scalp could add up on calcification meaning this limits/prevents blood to reach the hair follicles making strains thinning. Minoxidil is one medication that creates more bloodflow to the scalp. That one is documented to work for most men. Hardly recommended what ive heard it has a lot of sideeffects. But if Midoxidil makes bloodflow regrow hair, why whouldnt massages do also? Ive had results with this. I started for around 10 months ago on my crown its much thicker there now.

So, get bloodflow going through massages. Also having tension in scalp, like its all shiny on top, will restrict bloodflow and effect the follicles.

Take my advice: work on your personality first. As cliche as it may sound, confidence is key, that’s the sexiest and most attractive thing you can have. Worry less about how you look and think more of how you present yourself when you’re out there. Of course, I understand that physical appearance is important and if we look good, we tend to feel better. If you really want to solve your issues and the exercise and nutrition isn’t really helping you, you might be doing something wrong… Maybe turn to a professional? As for the hair care products, they can work if you’re consistent enough. For all of this, please don’t be like most people and give up after a week lol

By the way, congratulations for having the guts to put yourself out there, dating can be scary, especially if you’re starting over again.

I am not sure if you are a woman or a man but it doesn't really matter.

First, i would suggest to see a dermatologist. He/she can run you some blood work and give you a target treatment that can show great results. I am not saying that the serum you bought will not work, I am saying that it might not and as a result frustrate you and make you lose time and money.

Second, I am a woman that is dealing with hair loss due to an immune condition. I have both bald spots called alopecia areata, and generalised hair loss. Over the last 3-4 years I lost 90% of my hair. My boyfriend does not even realise I have thin hair honestly. The only comment that I got was actually from one of my best friends (what a bitch). So don't worry about it.

Third, if you feel like it may improve your self esteem until your body grows back your hair, you might want to give it a try and use wigs or toppers. Many people do it and it's no shame in that. The wig industry really blew these past few years thanks to Instagram.

If you are a woman, there are also stylists that know how to cut thin hair and teach you to style it so that it looks great.

If you are a man, just shave your head. There are many women/men that love a bald head.

Just don't lose hope. You will find someone that doesn't see it, just like I did. :)

Minoxidil (taken in pill form and also topically applied 2x a day) will give you great results, but you’d need to see a dermatologist for that. They will also do a blood test just to rule out other factors. This is also what they do for women, I am currently doing it myself, in addition to thyroid medication. It helps a lot, but if you ever stop you lose results.

As a woman, I can say that most of my friends find it unattractive when it’s obvious that a man is trying to hide his hair loss with comb-overs and such. A shaved head is kinda sexy for most balding men, more so than wearing a baseball hat all day.

Just own it man! Being confortable in your own skin is all that matters... Just shave it all of or go to a barber and ask for advice, they'll often help you for free.

If you overthink it and feel insecure about it and constantly trying to fix this it's going to create the opposite effect, the fear will own you! As far as I know there is no oil or ointment that fixes balding, some may stop it to a degree but only way to solve it completely is to make a hair transplant.

Funny story, I was very stressed in a period of my life and started to get paranoid about losing hair. I shaved it all away, with a razor. It was so refreshing and it felt so good to kill that fear! It was obviously weird at first but thats normal, you will get used to it and I find this ritual of shaving your head very grounding, like a moment for myself.

BTW I wasn't balding, just very afraid of it!

Ps. Don't shave your head and wear a bomber jacket and military boots. Rookie mistake.

I’m bald. Back in my 20s I wasted probably hundreds if not thousands of dollars on treatments that claimed to restore hair loss. None of them worked except minoxidil (Rogaine). In fact, there are only two treatments that have been proven to work - minoxidil and finasteride (Propecia). Minox stops working when you stop using it, so if you go some time and forget to use it, your hair will start falling out. Fin can fuck up your libido, so that’s an automatic no from me. Eventually I accepted my fate and shaved it off.

In all honesty, you’re better off shaving it. It’s a huge money saver. You won’t spend thousands on chemicals or implants or haircuts anymore, just a few bucks on razor blades. It’s true that women are more attracted to men with hair, but that’s just in general. It’s also true that, in general, women see bald men as more masculine and dominant. I can say that I’ve had more female attention since I started shaving than ever before. It gives you confidence and it shows you’re not the kind of guy that would spend more time in front of the mirror than she does.

What isn’t attractive is insecurity and of course, thinning and balding hair. Either shave it or get a treatment to restore it, but don’t leave it thinning on your head. If you’re going to shave it, start working out and grow your beard.

Hello! I have thinning hair myself and I bit the bullet and bought myself a wig and extensions.

However, you should go see a dermatologist. The regimen I am on is anti androgenic birth control, rogaine, b12 and d3 supplements, and spironolactone. I have had hair loss since high school.

I know it’s difficult and I’m sorry that you are going through this. Join the female hair loss subreddit, they are amazing!

Are there any women in your family balding? Of course talk to a dermatologist and have blood taken. But that serum won’t work, the only proven method for patter baldness is propecia and rogaine. If it’s a health or lifestyle issue your dermatologist will make suggestions for regrowth. At the end of the day women who pull off the buzz cut look are so damn sexy! I would say if you are stuck with it embrace it and make the other areas of your life amazing to compliment you. I’m a guy and will probably go bald eventually and so I make sure I’m fit af and work hard in a great career and have hobbies. Also taking care of my skin and all that. A tan goes a long way too :)

Edit: I have high standards and I would date a bald/buzz girl who had the things I mentioned above going on!

While I'm sure balding hair isn't a deal breaker for some women, you are right that first impressions count. Mine was thinning, so I just shaved my head to make it even and it looks much better.

If you wanted a wig/toupee, would it be any different than women who shave their head or add hair extensions? Double standards huh?
