This is one of those things that can sometimes mean she will never text you, but it can absolutely mean she will text you.
50/50. You have to wait. Do not text her.

Yeah. Don’t know why I posted this in the first place I don’t really care that much anymore. If she texts she texts if she doesn’t she doesn’t

Not always, I’ve been texted back after an I’ll text you, I’ve also fucked it up by texting her first when she said I’ll text you. Go talk to more girls and if she texts back she text back.

^ it’s a sad thing to have to walk on eggshells and it be so easy to scare a woman off - how did things get like this? I still believe on some level that women want to feel special and wanted by a guy and there’s got to be a way to convey that without it being seen as needy.
[–]sound_wrangler 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Different techniques and strategies work with different people. Some women I've played it coy (radio silence other than logistics) and others bantered for days before meeting in person. Personally- I enjoy the push/pull of teasing and ribbing over text, even though it can be difficult to pull off at first. When we finally meet there is already a playfulness and connection via "inside jokes". This is my preference and it helps me filter the women that fit my style and are attractive to me. If I was attracted to someone who didn't want that level of communication before a date, I would change my style to let them feel comfortable. Just think of it as a type of "love language" and you're speaking their "language". If you don't want to- or aren't willing to do it, then don't! Find someone who matches your style!

Women feel special when they get attention even if they ignore your messages. They know you are interested and in their pocket.
So many women need constant validation.

I’m not against women’s progress or equality - just pointing out that it’s really, really easy for a woman to lose interest (although that is relative to how good looking a guy is - usually). Though my theory on why women are so fickle is that there’s just too many options for them. It’s literally raining men. And every even slightly cute girl you see, you are competing with several other guys for.

Ah, you made some rookie mistakes here, pal:
Your best bet right now? Wait a few days before hitting her up again (I usually wait 4 days minimum), then when you hit her up (ideally with a phone call), ask her for the date. No building rapport, no trying to to chit-chat, just get straight to the point and ask for the date. Hope this helps!
[–]EmbarrassedReach3804 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Appreciate the advice
[–]cosmic_mounts 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Why not building rapport?
[–]IntrovertDatingCoach 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Because rapport-building is to be saved for the date. You want to talk about the majority of your "getting to know each other" stuff face-to -face where her other senses (smelling you, touching you, etc.) are part of that experience. When you try to do it via text it can leave you with less stuff to bond over when you meet in person.
Furthermore, many miscommunications can happen via text that could cause her to be less attracted to you. For example: You may tell a joke that comes off funny with the right vocal inflection when said in person, but insulting when you type it out and she reads it in an unintended way.
Lastly, women actually need time to NOT hear from you so they can use that time to build an attraction to you. I could talk about the science behind all this stuff for hours, but the short version is: the anticipation of hearing from you can be more powerful in building attraction than ACTUALLY hearing from you or making yourself available all the time via phone.
BONUS: Do yourself a favor and type "guy texts too much" into the Reddit search engine. I promise you, there are whole threads of women complaining about men they actually like that are starting to turn them off because they're texting too much. When women aren't in front of you on a date they are living their lives doing other things, and many of them do not want a guy that's constantly texting them when they're trying to concentrate on other things. They may not say anything to you because they don't want to have a confrontation or make you feel bad, but again - look on the forums, they're TIRED of all the texting.
EDIT: Here's an example: https://www.reddit.com/r/communication/comments/mnszr4/how\_to\_communicate\_to\_a\_guy\_im\_newly\_dating\_that/

Some great advice here.
It’s important to “leave things up in the air” at times, and avoid over communication early in to the relationship (for lack of a better term).
[–]IntrovertDatingCoach 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So, so true. I found I kept my dates' interest a LOT longer (and built up their attraction much faster) when I wasn't doing all this "text to build rapport" crap anymore

Best advice I’ve read on this sub
I’m not at all saying you are incorrect, but I’ve heard the opposite of No. 2, so it’s confusing. Then again I’ve never done No. 2 so maybe that’s my answer. lol
[–]MrDownhillRacer[🍰] 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Nobody here knows what this specific girl meant by "I'll text you," because none of us were there or know her. It's not like "I'll text you" is universal girl-code that translates into some special meaning.
[–]Top-Competition-4587 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You definitely do not want to text first but there’s a 50/50 chance she will. She’s been thinking about it for sure
[–]tellythesloot 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
It's iffy but at this point i wouldn't follow up until she texts you after a couple weeks
[–]EmbarrassedReach3804 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
What does this mean. Don’t follow up until after a couple weeks?
[+]tellythesloot -11 points-10 points-9 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
She said she'll text you. Wait for it. After a couple weeks without a text follow up with "Hey the invitations still open for this weekend, if not all good" and leave it at that
[–]sebiiik5 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
this sounds needy and desperate... if she doesn't text you after couple weeks just don't text anymore...
[–]GeezRick -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
While that’s true, sometimes you have to go for the Hail Mary. At that point, you have nothing to lose so might as well go all out.
[–]quantumactual 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is usually a sheit test to see if you’ll message her before she does. Easy to pass, but I’m sure a lot of guys don’t lol..which is why she does it.
[–]nalik95 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I agree with introvertdatingcoach. I normally do after-date-texts to let the girl down easy if I'm just not feeling it. I guess it's just a courteous thing to do and I value time so I appreciate when people go out of their way to make time to hang with me.
If I'm wanting a second date, a call is always better than a text and suggesting on the first date is better yet.
"I'll text you" reminds me of the line I'd throw at a girl when she said she was busy in the foreseeable future. I'd say, "You let me know when you're free".
At least she got the ball back on her side of the court without you having to hit it. I'd say wait and let her text you back. She could be busy. Or the other reason, obviously not in your favour is that she's not as interested.
[–]EmbarrassedReach3804 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
So you do an after date text telling them you’re not interested?
[–]nalik95 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In an indirect way yes. In womenspeak lol. I have 4 sisters, God-forbid a guy telling one of them they're not interested in a text and destroying their self-esteem etc.
Most of the time the feeling would be mutual.
My text would be an open ended invitation to "maybe" do something in the future, if we could both find the time. That's after thanking her for the date.
Generally girls understand that and reply with the same sentiment. Us guys on the other end would see my text as a maybe it will happen lol. Girls should generally get the hint.
As I said, it's a courteous thing to do and you'll come off as a guy with his head on right. May even gain respect from the girl. Also girls talk. If you're in a small area, you may end up on her friend's radar etc.
[–]sergeiglimis -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You made a mistake texting her you are supposed to wait two days then text her but don’t make plans then or you seem hooked. And “once a women knows she has you it’s over and you’ll never have her”
[–]jestercake 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She might. She might not. Just don't sit around waiting for it. Just live your life and make other plans.

Wait and see
Don't be all needy checking your phone every 5 minutes... Biting your nails anxiously
If she takes a while to text (if she does text) DO NOT - as in don't - respond with the quickness, like you're wait for it (which you totally are)
As much time as she took to text you take about the same to respond. If she wants to respond a little quicker - then you can too.
But please don't come off as needy. I made this mistake in my younger days.
Matter of fact I'ma advise you to kind of forget her, until or if she does text you. Right now she has you in the position you need to have her... Picking daisy pedals saying "she loves me, she loves me not"
[–]Clumsysneaker145 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I wouldn’t say it happens every time but definitely when a girl says that get her off your mind and just expect her to never reply again and if she does great if she doesn’t then you’ll already have another girl lined up and forgotten all about her
[–]SalesAficionado 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You will never hear from her again
[–]EmbarrassedReach3804 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]B_O_A_H 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She’s not texting you. Same thing happened to me, I had finally secured a date with a girl I spoke to every day. When I asked her how the logistics of the date would work, she said the very same; “I’ll text you.” She never did.
[–]LucasAnimeEnthusiast 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It’s true they don’t text you lmao
[–]demonspawn9 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There's a small chance, but this is more like the saying "let's do lunch" no one means it so don't hold your breath.
[–]for6idden0ne 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Why are you giving power to her to decide. Just ask it over call after sometime. Case close.
[–]EmbarrassedReach3804 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
The fuck are you talking about power to decide. I can’t force her to want to see me. If she says she’ll text me balls in her court
[–]for6idden0ne 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No sure about court or ball. Isn't the point is you want to get answers and move on. Its better than expecting call. Isn't the answer is always no, when you don't ask.
She’s just as capable of texting me as I am texting her. I’m not expecting anything either. “I’ll text you” is pretty sketch
[–]willgo-waggins 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
It’s dependent on a lot of things.
My current girl is a great in person communicator. Very open, straightforward and means what she says and is honest as the day is long. She doesn’t do ANY social media and is not fond of texting or even phone calls (she has it all day ling at her work and just likes to be away on her own time). So I will go sometimes as much as a week not hearing from her. She also will get busy and forget that she said she would get in touch. So I will send a little message “thinking of you” or “miss you” or such and will almost always now get an immediate response. Sometimes a little learning about each other is necessary.
My son is dealing with the same thing from his girl who also is a bad communicator with a lot going on all the time.
Welcome to the modern world.
Give it a week then something simple like “hope you’ve had a great week I’ve been really busy” will get a yes or no answer.
[–]EmbarrassedReach3804 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Uhhh ok? U didn’t really tell me why it’s dependent on a lot of things. Kinda just rambled about your relationship
[–]willgo-waggins 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Well I wanted to give an example from my perspective of something I have dealt with recently.
But with that kind of response maybe she just thought you are too abrupt and insensitive?
Just saying man. You ask for help be grateful not critical. Look at it from her perspective. Just because you thought it went great doesn’t mean she did.
But maybe she just has a life and is busy. Maybe she had four banister other guys blowing up her phone and your little message is down out of sight and out of mind off the screen. Maybe she’s shy and embarrassed to reach out after it’s been a few days.
I could keep going but what you want is justification to say “fuck it I didn’t need her anyway”. So if that’s it then just do it and don’t look to internet strangers fir an excuse.
If you’re into her, make an effort in a non pushy/threatening way. Otherwise let it ride and move on.
[–]EmbarrassedReach3804 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
U right my bad. Just thought the response was irrelevant but I was harsh. Appreciate the advice
[–]willgo-waggins 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Of course. I hang out here hoping to help out.
I’m older and have a lot of experience both positive and negative.
I only hope to help you get people avoid the pitfalls.
Have a great weekend and good luck man!
[–]cannibalstreudel 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
We have no idea. If you wanna go on a date with her it’s up to you to make it happen. I’d follow up in 3-4 days and try to plan something - a specific place date and time. Then let the pieces fall as they may.
