Most women are on the pill that I know personally… you could always ask them to take a morning after pill to be double sure. Communication is key, I’m sure they don’t want your baby as much as you don’t want to be baby daddy

Use condoms, and don't take her at her word when she says he has birth control/IUD. Maybe she does, but take responsibility for contraceptives.

My ex's brother was a child of a drunk hookup. In seeing how that family, specifically him, acts I don't blame the bio father for never being in their lives. It's horrible to say but you don't truly know who you are getting into with all of this. If the woman is a shitty person she will make your child follow suite (who will then be shitty to you cause you never married their shitty mother). It's a sad situation and this isn't fun to type but I hope it's an example to keep the condoms on for everyone.

I don't want to make anyone paranoid but there's a crazy real-life story in the book Men on Strike by Helen Smith PhD.

This handsome, well-dressed successful guy was in the hospital visiting his sick father. A hot nurse pulled him into a private room, things escalated and she ended up giving him a BJ.

Nine months later he gets a call from the nurse. At first, he doesn't remember who she is. She jogs his memory. She says she's just given birth and he's the father. She's going to sue him for child support. He's in a state of disbelief but a DNA test reveals he's the father.

He took the case to court. He argued he only had oral sex with the nurse. He did not have vaginal sex. She must have retained his sperm and impregnated herself with it. As he did not impregnate the nurse he should not be on the hook for child support.

The judge disagreed. The man had "gifted" the nurse his sperm and she was entitled to do with it as she wished. As she impregnated herself with it, he was the legal father and therefore he must pay child support.
