Get into school clubs. Preferably something you actually enjoy so you'll have a good time and give off a positive vibe, but some clubs will have more girls than others. For example, a college hiking club will have significantly more girls than a dungeon and dragons club or some shit. Good clubs that come to mind are hiking and intramural sports.
As far as actually getting invited to things, express interest in whatever you want to get invited to. If you wanna go to a party, tell stories or something so your friends know you like parties. A lot of the time, PersonA doesn't get invited places because PeopleB don't think PersonA would want to go because they showed no interest.
Edit: small clarification and spelling

Yeah I am in a certain club that is athletic
[–]Quithi 8 points9 points10 points 9 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Also, ask to be invited if they talk about something in front of you.
When you're holding something there's often very real limits to who you can invite and you usually go by a mental list (best friends, girls, interested parties, etc) so you might just be below the cut off line currently.

I don't get what you mean there?

Say I'm throwing a party, and my apartment is small. Unless my expressed goal is to meet new people I'm going to invite my guy friends their gfs my gf's friends or the girls I want to impress. After inviting these 'auto includes' it may not be feasible to invite you for no particular reason other than you are too low on my social ladder. Start climbing.
Hope that helps
[–]anotherthrowawayad22 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Ah I get that though I have no idea how to climb a social ladder
[–]rap4food 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
do you have any friends?
[–]anotherthrowawayad22 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Small amount
[–]Quithi 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That's the tricky bit. The best way is to be a cool guy to begin with (which you should already be prioritizing) and to get a foot in the door. Once you get into a party and are a positive part of it, they should think of you next time and at least consider inviting you.
Until then don't push too hard, but if you hear them talking about a party in front of you it is a sign that you aren't explicitly not invited and so ask for an invitation.
[–]anotherthrowawayad22 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ah, that makes sense
[–]abstractpickupartist1 point 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Add value.
Volunteer to help at the clubs. Working the door is ideal, being MC is good, but anything adds value.
Help plan events for the club. That will start giving you ideas what that process is like, and what other people like. Spend some time researching interesting events in your area, and suggest a group activity. For a small time investment (15 minutes a week) you can be "The guy who knows what cool stuff is going on".
Tell interesting stories. How do you find interesting stories? Go do interesting things. See previous paragraph. Do them by yourself first, if you have to. Travel is good, too.
[–]somewhatintrigued 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
They're just not thinking of you when they're planning because you have never been involved yet and/or they think that you don't care.
Ah.

Perhaps the one club I might join is the psychology club.. Not really sure if it's just casual students or experts though. I wish my school offered more clubs. The others are anime club.. roleplaying etc.. This is college haha. Not really looking to get into school sports.

I don't know if you can, but a good way to get invited to parties is to have your own party.
[–]SvenskaTuttar 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Second this. If you invite somone to your party and everyone has a good time, the next time they throw a party you will 100% be invited.
Funny enough when we were new in college we threw a huge party. Didn't expect everyone to show up so we invited about 300% people more than our apartment could fit. EVERYONE showed up LOL. Had a great time and from that point on we were invited to everything.
[–]frankreyes 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is it. People invite you to their parties because they want to be invited to other parties.

I believe that there is absolutely nothing wrong on going out alone. On the other hand, why wait for people to invite you and dont invite them yourself? "Hey guys. I was thinking about checking out X this friday. Wanna come?" Should work with almost everything. Unless of course you mean events that you must be invited from within in order to attend

If you're in college, the typical advice you're going to get is: join a club, sport, fraternity, or other activity and problem solved.
That's great advice, actually, because in college it really is that easy. Source: I joined a social fraternity and we threw incredible parties at our house and my social circle was HUGE.
But it sounds like that route hasn't been working for you so I'm going to offer another route.
Download Snapchat, add everyone you know and meet in college, and then start posting cool stories.
Why? Why should you invest your time in an app like Snapchat?
Because it's a great way to market yourself.
It's a great way for you to market yourself to those around you including friends, new acquaintances, and yes... girls too.
Post college, Snapchat was what I used to strengthen my relationships with new people I was meeting.
Whereas most people struggle to maintain a social and dating life after college, I was thriving (ended up with 40+ dates within a 9 months span).
My point is: if you are able to leverage Snapchat as a way to maintain relationships, improve your image... you'll get invited to a lot more shit. People will WANT to hangout with you.
To this day, I still get invited to things all the time despite living an average, 9-5 life. And I have to thank Snapchat for it.
There's a lot that goes into play here, so I'm going to leave you with my guide. I posted it here on Reddit and a lot of people seemed to enjoy it (others hated it immensely, saying "fuck social media") so take it how you want.

I was just about to drill you for your snapchat secrets. I have a lot of trouble getting traction on it. Thanks!

I've never been to the US, and the fraternity party thing is so "out of a movie" to me that I read this comment as if someone on Reddit talked about their experience in Narnia or hanging out in Central Perk. Same with proms.

Find out what your schools party facebook page is. You'll be able to find parties on that.

I'm leading up to approaching
Sounds like you're looking for an easy way out. The suggestions about managing your social circle here are great, but they won't help you with that.
Sort your inner game Grow a pair. Become a person people want around.
Find your niche Make sure you're playing to your strengths. You'll have a generally shitty time if you try to force getting along with people you don't naturally mesh with. Don't start there.
Make shit happen Someone has to do the inviting. Get shit together. Help people have a good time. Provide value.
[–]enkae7317 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Probably...start inviting these people to your own things. Like if you're throwing a little kickback or party start inviting them and they'll in turn invite you to their things. Worked that way for me.
[–]ellisdeee 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The majority of the parties I go to are ones I wasn't invited to personally. Depending on the size of you school, there is usually a party neighborhood, and around 10 or 11 if Will be obvious where the parties are. Big apartment complexes are also good spots to check out. If you say you have friends, you do t need to wait for them to invite you, just hit them up early evening and ask them what they're up to tonight. Don't overthink it.

You become the person who does cool shit and invites people to your world. Don't be a little bitch
[–]anotherthrowawayad22 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
No idea how to do that when my cool shit is normal
[–]jediog420 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
for girls if you're able to paint a beautiful picture with your words and trigger her mirror neurons and get her excited like a fat kid who wants cake then you got checkmate
I'll try that lol, I guess

Is it, though? Surely there are things you're passionate about? And surely you do activities on your own? If the answer to both of those is yes, you're most of the way there. If you're passionate about it and are doing things for fun, convincing others (male or female) to come with you won't be hard.
For example. I love baseball. Back when I was into gaming/pickup (been married for a year and in a relationship for 3 years before that) I had no trouble convincing friends of mine to attend baseball games with me. Why? Because I knew they were tons of fun (even for non-fans- nobody I went with ever had a bad time), I was going to go regardless (showing that I had shit going on in my life.... asking someone to go out somewhere is one thing- it's another to say "Hey, I'm going to this game at this time... you should join me!"), and they're a great way to interact and socialize. I could meet people Friday night at a party or whatever and talk them into going with me the next day. I was careful not to talk baseball 24/7, especially with people who weren't all that interested. And not everyone was interested, and that was okay. Why? Because I was going to go and have an awesome time regardless.
