Please don't drop subtle hints! if he is like most of the readers on seddit, he will have what we call approach anxiety and will probably think you will turn him down.

Just say something like "jeez whats with the long wait" then introduce yourself. He will bite. Girls that approach are hot, because your confident. do it before its too late and you kick yourself all week.

Get a conversation going. Make a little eye contact. If you have enough balls, tell him "that's cute" after he says something clever or funny, then make strong eye contact. If it's going well, but he doesn't have the balls to ask for your number, say "OK, this is where you're supposed to ask for my number".

Smile, look him in the eyes and tell him something that you find attractive about his style/fashion/clothes in the form of a compliment. Trust me, he WILL get it. If he doesn't, he's probably not the kind of guy you should be after anyway... After the compliment, segue way in to situational small talk and let him take the lead.

As you can probably tell, this subreddit is dominated by guys. That's because it is hard for us. Most of us are not born with the proper knowledge and social intuition we need to talk to a woman. Most guys are actually afraid of approaching a woman. Once you get the ball rolling it will be much easier. Remember guys usually won't understand your subtle hints.

I'm going to tell you a story about subtlety that you might not believe. One night a girl that I had just started working with asked me to come over and watch a movie after work. So we go back to her place, lay on her bed and watch the movie. When its over she looks at me and says you don't have to leave and offers me a spot in her bed. After we settled in she rolls over and starts kissing me. Next thing you know we are cuddled up and she falls asleep. I laid there the entire night wondering what to do. I was dumbfounded and today I still kick my self occasionally for being so dense. I wanted her and she wanted me, somehow in the moment I missed it. It was awkward after that, she quit and never talked to me again.

Follow the advice of others in this thread, talk about school. Ask about what other classes they have next. Get some lunch with him. Exchange numbers for "educational cooperation." Text him. Get him alone, in a dorm, a car, somewhere he will feel safe making a move. Don't be afraid to do something yourself at that point if he doesn't. Yes, most men are as stupid as I was. He will figure it out, but that could take days!

Might work but probably too late, drop something, he'll look, when you pick your head up make eye contact and smile, then submissively drop your head over your shoulder (if you know what I mean).
