Seriously... If you doubt something works, GO TEST IT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF.

I really wish more people on seddit were doing that.

I doubt some of the tactics, like opinion openers. I find them intrusive and boring. I always rely on observational openers as they feel so much more natural.

The videos may be fake but the theory is solid.

You'll never get anywhere by being a nice guy and sitting around waiting.

You'll get more results by taking action. It almost doesn't matter what kind of action. But certain kinds of action are obviously better.

Some of the videos are sure to be fake, and some of the real ones look bad. I was watching one where a guy got a number from a girl, but you could tell from her body language, tone, etc that she really didn't want to be talking to him. So i think sure some of it works, but you have to use it right. You have to use it at the correct point in the conversation, if it requires it. Not just because "a mPUA said so.". I think what is missing is the understanding of where stuff is appropriate.

I worked with one of the largest pua companies in the world and never saw a fake pickup video. There's no reason for it when any Instructor or Dating coach could just make a real video with a mic and recorder, which the programs even suggest students have.

Depends on the presenting individual. Some individuals its possible, but my suspicion is that the ones who pickup on the street and record it are trying to sell you something.

It's pseudo scientific psychology.

Videoing someone in the street on the other hand is perfectly do-able. Have you ever tried calling someone and putting your phone in your pocket? They can hear everything pretty clearly on a decent set-up.

Many people use two cameras. One spy camera worn on them, usually at around lapel level. This captures close up video and audio. The second shot is usually done using a small camcorder at a distance, taken by the guys wing. People then create videos showing footage of the second camera with audio from the first camera.
