Request: How to host a successful party when you've never hosted one before.

Schedule: If your party is on a weekend, give people notice early on in the week so they have something to look forward to during their boring work week. People will ask "any plans for this weekend?" and they'll say "i dont know yet, but I think Magicroot75 is throwing a party" and so on and so on.

Drinks: You should have a least beer available at your party for free or cheap. You can get a cheap keg for $50 bucks and ask for donations at the door. You probably won't make your money back, but people like free beer, and you may even get some money back. Tell people there will be a keg there and tell them to bring any liquor they want if they don't drink beer.

Girls: Invite all the girls. Invite dudes with girlfriends. Invite gay dudes (they always have a female entourage). It's not a party without girls.

Music: Fuck that obscure new band you like that nobody knows of, but should know of because they're so awesome. Put together a playlist of good pop music that girls like to dance to. It's fine to put in some other songs you like, but keep it consistent. Keep the girls moving.

Activities: everybody likes doing stuff while drinking. Have beer pong set up. Get a deck of cards and poker chips if somebody has them. Lawn games are great too (cornhole, etc.). Open up the pool or hut tub if you have one.

Food: cook a few burgers or get some snacks. Don't be a cheap bastard. You're throwing a party, and that includes helping people soak up all that alcohol with some grub.

Host: be a good host. Everybody is invited and everybody is more than welcome. Make sure everybody is having a good time. Be courteous and charming. Bitches love a good host.

Facebook: don't use facebook unless you know a decent amount of people are going to accept. Nobody wants to be the only one responding to the event. For facebook, keep it invite only but tell people to invite whoever they want. Dont invite your entire friends list. Aunt Lily and your little cousin don't need to be invited, neither does that dude you barely know from highschool. I'd be more willing to accept the request if somebody actually invited me, rather than invite all 1000 friends on their friends list.
