My thought: It's actually a numbers game, just like pick-up. You just need to be constantly meeting new people until you find people who you click with, who hopefully know other people who you would also click with.

Pro-tip: Meet gay guys. A lot of straight guys just know other straight guys, because they are constantly trying to hook up with HB's. But gay guys generally have a decent number of HB friends.

Take the initiative, arrange outings for people, have fun, meet chicks - in that order.

First, take a look at yourself, know who you are and what you like, what you don't like, what you would like to try. Next take a look at the people around you, the people you define as cool, do you relate to them? Study them, find out what their interests/passions are, and find ways to bring it up in conversation. Make comments and ask questions, let them do the talking. Being a good conversationalist makes you cool.

This is assuming you have a core group and want to form a loose network. If you don't have a core group of friends, you should start there.

Not sure if this fits with exactly what you're trying to do here (how did I end up in /r/seduction? wtf) but...have you considered tutoring people at this commuter school of yours? If you can get a couple of students they might be able to clue you into the broader social context you exist in. In general, you sound like you're young and haven't really got much going on in your life...fix that first but keep your eye on other people that you do interact with and how they solve this problem.

Have you asked people around you this question, instead of internet strangers? Maybe they can give some suggestions too.

The answer is very simple - get a life. Get a job, start working, whatever. Don't be the guy who rides on the value a cool person brings to the group - BE the guy who brings value to the group. YOU be the guy people ask you to go to parties. Don't fucking depend on others to bring you to a party.

You know, what you're describing takes a lot of work. My advice would be to find people that you have a common interest with, get out there for wine tasting, or photography classes. Whatever takes your fancy.

It's hard to build a strong bond with somebody unless you have a reason to spend quite a bit of time with them first so you can get to know each other.

The places where you're most likely to make good friends is from your school or in your class. If you're still not making any, the best advice would be either join a club or society (especially one that interests you because that's where you'll meet more like minded people.) where no organizing to meet up is needed.
