I think in the mainstream view there is an unsavory reputation to the community in general. Look at most of the TV shows that portray PUA's. It is always some sketchy parody of old Mystery routines.

Now i think some people are starting to realize that seduction is the by-product, the goal is self improvement.

A lot of people fail to realize that the rules of attraction aren't changeable.

Even if you have every book of The Mystery Method memorized, you won't realize a guy is using it on you as long as you don't use stock routines. Everything in pick up is a guideline, not a rule.

So if a girl avoids every guy who teases her or opens her indirectly, she's going to spend A LONG time alone. Even if Pick Up was taught at every public school across the country, it'd only be a matter of time until girls just decided "Hmm this guy has done his homework so let's see what he's offering" as opposed to "Ew this guy learned "sleazy" pick up techniques"

It's pretty simple, the seduction community very mainstream, and it started years ago...

At one point the seduction community was a community. There existed "game." Then the community became an industry and you started to see market segmentation. This means companies had to differentiate themselves from one another in order to sell product.

That's where you start seeing the deconstruction of the knowledge. Eventually "game" became, "night game" and "day game." Then you started seeing "direct" and "indirect game."

Now you have more types/styles of game than one could imagine and a completely dissected pool of knowledge. They are broken pieces of a shattered whole that all sprang from once source - "Game."

But that doesn't mean the real knowledge isn't out there. Those who follow principles and practice will find the information that works.

And even though it's mainsteam the routines and principles still work, and a good seducer would be ready for the possibility that someone may have heard a routine before.

My point is, don't worry about how mainstream it is, if you want to learn this stuff - keep learning, keep practicing, and you'll get good.

I think it's a tremendous and great thing. The community has grown from what it was 5 years ago, seddit itself has grown, but with any other sub, less than 1% of its users are online at any given time (at this time .25% of seddit is online).

I feel like Simplepick gives more entertainment value than anything, plus they have the "average guy/ethnic" gimmick to use to their advange. I enjoy how they don't take anything too seriously, have a great time, and don't try to shove it down your throat.

I'm curious about this post, do you view this as a good or bad thing? And why?

There will probably always be attention whores like SimplePickup who exploit the community for publicity, for their own financial advantage. They are no different than the feminists and anti-pickup agitators who use attacks on the community to get publicity for their political agenda.

I've been asking the same question myself. I'm trying to figure out if this guy I see all the time knows about the community cause I see him use PUA techniques all the time. Either that or, or he's an amazing natural.

I know this subreddit has grown a lot. I'm pretty sure 6 months ago we had only 40,000 readers and now it's 80,000+.

Keep in mind this, the videos talk about being the alpha male, learn attractive body language, learn openers, look good, great hygiene.

Look up videos that talk mainly about these and they have 10 times less views, and people who don't understand how important it is dislike the video, thinking its so easy it's a lie. I saw a video about using body language to display dominance, the video has about 1,200 views. 14 likes 12 dislikes. The video wasn't bad at all, the guy knew what he was talking about, and I have used what I learned in the video, and got a positive out come. So it's not too popular, and wanting to be "in" to this like most sedditors are, is rare. Otherwise this would be a more popular sub reddit

RSD's Free Tour videos only have a few thousand views each, and Keys to the VIP is exclusive to Canada (I think). So, in general I think pickup is known of but isn't popular at all. People still look at pickup with disdain for the most part. Regardless, even if it's known, it still works, so it doesn't matter. People know stage magic is fake but it doesn't stop them from being amazed.

Just because people know about it, doesn't mean they know how to "use it" well. Nor do people know when it's being "used" on them. Because proper PUA is simply attraction and seduction. Seduction and attraction aren't "tricks", but rather science.

Before PUA it was the best man wins, it's still the same post PUA.
