I too became very excited after reading MM and the game, but you need to be careful. Don't adopt these techniques if you can't carry them out with complete confidence. The PUA community has shifted to a focus on inner game for a reason. Tyler Durden's The Blueprint is long but quite powerful. From personal experience, I tried MM strategies but they weren't congruent to my persona and so I crashed and burned.

One important thing to know, which a lot of people tend to overlook, is that there is not single set of rules that will guarantee success. I think that to be effective you should pick and choose good strategies from people who have proved themselves, and then bring your own personality into the mix to create something that's yours. Learn from failure, and grow.

Former Mystery Method Corp Instructor here.

Mystery Method is still pretty good stuff, but over the years I've met a LOT of guys who took the book too seriously and didn't get much out of it.

The first thing you should know is that a lot of Mystery stuff is REALLY cliche now. There are (or were) so many guys out there opening sets over their shoulders and saying "Guys, Quick Question, I need a female opinion..." that it's now as tacky as "What's your sign?"

That's not to say that the underlying ideas aren't good (they mostly are), but if you're reading a mystery line word-for-word, you're going to sound like some other dude who hit on her a few weeks ago.

Finally, another criticism of the Mystery Method that Mystery was mostly chasing after strippers and hard-core club girls. A lot of the advice is target at those sorts of women (who are a bit weird), and isn't the best advice for the kinds of women you're likely to meet at the local bar.

Anyway, I'm obviously biased here, but I think magic bullets is a lot better.

I started off with the game and MM, and they're a great way to get your foot in the door. The problem is that I found that Style and Mystery way over-complicate the whole thing and focus too much on routines and trying to plan out entire interactions. In the beginning I got hung up on trying to be like them and use their methods and material and got stuck trying to be someone I wasn't. I read a lot of different books and then I realized that I just needed to spend more time focusing on making my life fun and interesting and then women would just want to be around me naturally. There's a lot to learn from reading those books, but don't get stuck trying perfect routines and stacks and all that. I would highly recommend checking out some natural game guys like gambler, and Mark Manson. So far, I've felt that Mark Manson's stuff has been the most useful to my overall perspective on game, though your mileage may vary. Good luck man! I know reading this stuff changed my whole outlook on life for the better. Just be careful not to loose yourself, and have fun!

Mystery Method works for getting Mystery laid. There are a lot of sound fundamentals underlying it. However, it's not for everyone and it won't lead to lasting happiness. Mystery is prone to breakdowns throughout The Game and as far as I know that hasn't changed. All of Mystery's techniques are focused on outward actions and he completely ignores inner game. What you really want is to develop a system that works for you and will lead you to a place where you're content. So when you're done reading Mystery Method, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Mark Manson's Models. It'll blow your mind.

I think there have been advances in the last 5 years that outshine MM, but it is solid material and works great.

Welcome to the broad field of PUA! Most of us started with the two books you mentioned, it's an exciting door to open. There are many good methods out there, so I hope that you don't make the same mistake as me and limit yourself to just MM.

You can have success, but you really need to believe in what you're saying. I've run the same routine on multiple girls and the times it's worked, I was really excited and was feeling good. The times I crashed were when I felt forced to approach and wasn't really feeling the whole situation so I doubted myself.

All I'd like to know is, has anyone else read The Mystery Method (or any other PUA books) and had any amount of success with what you learned or is it all just b.s.

it is NOT BS. If you're local, we can go out and I'll show you that its real.

I've been doing Mystery Method for a bit over 2 years now. and I do it right. Been trained the right way.

My Recommendations are to Read the Mystery method book From Cover-to-cover. Not just the first few chapters. Read and internalize everything.

After the Mystery Method, I would recommend Revelation. But before you crack into Revelation, you need some experience opening sets. open a lot.

hundreds. 250 is a nice start.

because then, what's in Revelation will make a lot more sense.

Then you'll start to plateau. And that's when you train to become a PUA.

training will teach you the pausing, the tonality, the calibration you need to run game properly.
