What is a good topic of conversation w/ girls I don't know, and girls I know through friends?

A little acronym called FORD. Family, Occupation, Recreation, Dreams. I'm specifically a fan of the last two, with my favorite question to ask being, "What do you like to do for fun?" That one question can open many doors to new conversation paths.

Basically, just try to get to know the girl deeper than the superficial small talk things that she feeds to everyone whilst on autopilot.

You need to build on what both of you are saying, pushing boundaries when possible. The conversation won't head where you need it by itself, unless you or her push it that way.

Just listen and use what she is saying. Sometimes I can't even remember how I got talking about sexy stuff, we were just talking about it. Or how we got talking about anything else, for that matter.

I really like to create escape imagery emotions early in my interactions. I feel it helps me become that person where the woman can share her hopes and dreams. This opens up women's minds to fantasy. Best part is, I'm in the position to run away with them if they are awesome and can wait a few months till the end of my next contract.

You need to stop and think, why am I talking to this girl and what do I want from this interaction. You're probably talking to her because you thought she was cute, maybe you want to have sex with her, maybe you want to date her. What you need to do is get your intentions across. Open her and tell her that she's cute and you just had to talk to her. That's when you go onto your small talk but make sure it's about things you're actually interested in, don't just small talk about nonsense that you don't care about. Afterwards most guys don't know what to do but here is your answer, ask her out or invite or somewhere.

You wanna be put in a position to get anywhere? Invite her to hang out and grab coffee. Or set something else up. If she's interested get the number and you're good to go, that's how you should be doing things.

But what's stopping me is that I don't know what to say. Small talk and whatever I fine, but is there anything that would put me in a position to get anywhere. I don't know how I would get a girl by simply talking about random crap, like cheese.

Once you've gotten into the door, even small talk can lead to deeper subjects. Two steps after you've asked her a question:

Literally stop thinking as much as possible and devote everything to LISTENING to the words coming out of her mouth.
Then after she stops talking/answering. Process what's been said and reply with an eye towards investigating her emotions and motivations.

Rinse and repeat....... and soon you'll turn small talk into deeper conversation.

If you're in a group conversation, the rules of thumb are a little different though.

The best topic is always her. But don't ask - tell her about herself. Your intuitions and assumptions about her based on observation and vibe. Show mastery over her world. This takes practice but gets easier.

Sometimes its really doesn't matter what you say but rather the way you say it. That doesn't mean spend an hour talking about cheese if she clearly doesn't care.

Build rapport with FORD ( /u/NewbieX2 has a post already covering this up top), then to get the personality ball rolling come back with a short speech. Basically, always be able to posit an idea or question that interests you and reveals something about you that's intriguing inside of a brief 30-second window.
