I feel like texting is a great way to get to know the person, create a connection and find out if you want to go further with this person. Then again I'm only 18. Chicks my age love to text.

You ignore her - texting is a huge time killer and it sends the wrong signals.

Essentially, the more you text her, the less she will value it. The less you text her, the more she will value it because its rare.

Maybe off topic, but I match their response time.. so if they text back immediately, so do I. If they take 10 minutes to reply then so do I.

One of my good friends(girl) loves to text me and ask me how I'm doing and just chat about nothing. If I have free time I usually shoot the shit with her and make plans to do whatever.

Texting can be quite horrible especially since delivery is not guaranteed to be immediate. I've had numerous issues with iPhone/android not getting messages between them. Phone calls most always go through and are much quicker to get your point across.
