Others must have suffered with this when they first started. I'm 27 and have been single all my life. I've started to date a little recently, where I previously smashed my head against the wall attempting to get dates online.

My first date was a bit of a shambles -- didn't physically escalate as was a little shy and wasn't really that light-hearted.

But this is a major sticking point for me now. I've been alone for so long, and been rejected/ignored so many times that I just don't have the energy to get to know someone.

How do you stay pumped and excited about meeting people in situations like this? I could really do with some insight from others have gone through it before.
