lol, this kind of happened to me a while ago.

I had an unusually good vibe/interaction going on with this pretty girl i approached in a bar, but her friend took an instant dislike to me.

The girl I liked, was into me enough not to let her friend drag her away from me when she tried (this seems to happen SO MUCH! Fucking friends, 'saving' the girl you're talking too!), but then the friend was just giving me shit test after shit test, little insults etc etc, in front of the other girl.

I tried my best to deal with her tests and laugh her off etc, but it got really tiring, and by this point, the girl i liked was looking kind of bored and was looking at her phone and stuff.

The whole vibe died about 20 mins later and her friend succeeded in completely cock blocking me, lol.

I really think that a large chunk of game is luck.

Luck in finding a girl who thinks you are physically attractive. Luck in the girl being cool. Luck in her friends not being a complete dick and a cock blocker, etc etc.

I guess just approach like a machine, and yuo're bound to get lucky at some point!

I just wanted to point this out. If her girlfriend is being a bitch immediately, it's probably because she feels threatened. Threatened that you're attractive and may actually gain her friends attention. So much so that she may be left behind, tonight, or next month when/if it became serious. Women are protective of their friends and when one is single, they want their best friend to be also.

However back to your question, the best play is ignoring them. Hopefully they come around and or even apologize but that doesn't always happen.

Ignore the harasser and befriend the rest of the group. If you make them like you, he/she will stand out.

If he/she continues, after you get a vibe that the group is opening to you, you can ask them some questions to defuse it:

Is she in a bad mood today?
Is he always like that?

If they respond positively and seem even more on your side add something like "I hope he doesn't bite me. Anyway, we were saying..." and don't mention it anymore.

Once she/he has been quiet for a while, you can extend some questions to give them another chance to reintegrate with the rest.

Whenever a girl is irrationally being an asshole to you, you have to pretend she doesn't exist. THAT IS THE ONLY ANSWER. Any type of engaging with you will make you look bad and weak. THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN SAY TO HER TO MAKE HER NICE. You have to think of her as a crazy fan trying to talk to a celebrity; the worst thing the celebrity can do is talk back to them. You literally have to pretend that there is nothing there. It will feel weird because it is natural to fight back and defend yourself when somebody is being a jerk to you, but the rules are different and weird here. Unless she is physically assaulting you, just act like she is not there. If you absolutely need to speak to her (like to tell her to move out of the way) be very polite and cordial. Nothing will crush their dark souls like complete and total indifference.

Normally, you should befriend the friends and not ignore them but when one of them actively becomes hostile with you then just banish them from your mental existence. If the friend shows herself to be determined to ruin your night, then you need to reevaluate whether it is even worth pursuing that girl. In those situations a lot of times I will just get the girl's number and move on.
