I (26F) have some emotional baggages from my family that I can never shake off completely. I just never learned to really, sincerely love myself. I’m not depressed or anything, just not a big fan of myself very much. I feel life is hard and meaningless and I only want to live with dignity, to be able to understand the world a little bit and think intelligently. I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll ever fall in love with someone. I’m adequately smart, attractive, and kind. But I find myself always lonely and hard to get into a relationship. Maybe it’s because I’m too dull and can’t handle emotions and vulnerability very well. Or maybe it’s just fundamental. They say you can’t make people love you if you don’t love yourself. I’m wondering if any of you have found love when you didn’t really love yourself.
