I met a girl through a speaking club. We connected well but I had to leave the place for a couple of hours. When I came back I saw another guy (I don’t know) was seating close with her.

This guy is a regular, saw him multiple times but we never spoke because he is only communicating to women. Never saw him speaking to other men unless they initiated.

She asked me how it went and we spoke again but this guy (who is still sitting beside her) is making me feel uncomfortable because he is non verbally broadcasting ‘fuck off’ to me by ignoring and only share snacks to her. I tried to talk to him as well but since he is very passive to me it looks like not a good idea to befriend him. She was still very kind to me because we spoke earlier.

I feel reluctant to ask for her contact because I don’t know what his relationship is with her. She is warm to both of us but he is only warm to her, so that is making me feel uncomfortable because he is kind of ‘competing’ with me.

She has invited both of us to a party but I felt he was not amused but I don’t know how to deal with this ‘cold war’ situation.

What would you do?

I don’t want to be a dick and steal a women because I know how frustrating it can be that after I approach and girl and got a number that in less than 5 minutes she get approached by another dude doing the same thing.
