Why do you think boy bands have been HUGE with teen girls, but girl bands have typically not shared the same success with teen boys?

The boy bands are typically made up of above-average looking guys and their music contracts give them a massive boost in social status. These two things are both rare among men and highly coveted by the majority of teen girls. The music is also designed to appeal specifically to them. It actually follows a very specific formula that has been reused for decades in the music industry.

Girl bands just don't make music that appeals to straight teen boys. Teen boys tend to prefer music made by men.

It's because boy bands, and girl bands cater to the same demographic ( girls,and the lgbtq community). There are no girl groups in any genre( except baby metal) that has a targeted demographic of men. When they do, they are usually successful
