Yes, all my supervisors are women. They delegate their work and spend the day socializing. Many coworkers, men and women, recognize my leadership and feel that I should have been promoted into that role.

I have worked in higher education for many years.

I’ve been on search committees where it was made clear male candidates would only be considered if the female candidates were incredibly bad.

My previous supervisor, a white man was told to step down and was replaced with a far less experienced black woman. The president and all the VPs are now women as well as most other top positions.

Most DEI meetings are all about trying to convince employees how important it is to favor women, especially minority women. (Either that or a transgender issue).

It’s long been the norm that if weekend or other off hour work is required, it will usually be men asked to do so. Similarly, women can leave early with no questions asked, but not men.

As with most colleges, accused males (students and employees) are denied basic due process procedures. Most employees have been so indoctrinated, they see nothing wrong with this.

I’m now semi-retired and thankfully working remotely, so I’m mostly removed from that now. I think many don’t realize how strongly discrimination is practiced and accepted in higher education.

I have been adjacent to blatant gender and race discrimination hiring. I am a principal software engineer and regularly and responsible for administering the technical component of interviews. This involves the candidate solving some simple coding problems and me asking them about their solution. Really standard stuff that I have done for about five or ten years. Anyways, my company was hiring for an QA SE II (junior engineer responsible for writing code that tests code). There were several candidates, of course mostly white guys. Then along came a different candidate who was a brown woman. The manager she would report to pulled me and my coworker aside before her interview and told us we could only ask her nontechnical questions. She said they were confident of her qualifications and wanted to know if she was a “cultural fit.” Against my advice we hired her. She stayed at the company for a year and a half and did not write a single line of code. Not one. She would spend weeks struggling and ask me and my team members questions I would expect a freshman in undergrad to know the answer to (she claimed to have a masters in computer science from india). Questions like: what is json? What is a string? Why do we use == instead of =? Finally my company fired her. While she working for us she was responsible for testing the authorization layer of our biggest product which is used by most companies, hospitals, schools, and governments to manage their networks (our big product is software in IT and security). It was terrifying and if it wasn’t for how capable the other engineers were it could have gone a lot worse.

I was just passed up for a promotion where I know for a fact I have more experience in the related job than the other candidate. Moreover, she wasn't even out of training, and they still took her over me, which shouldn't happen. I've also been with the company longer than her.

Decades ago I applied for a civil service gov't job (USA). I got a pretty sexist/racist letter back saying, in nicer words of course, that white guys need not apply.
I applied for a professor position in a STEM field, that was 2/3 male. They had 5 openings. Somehow, they managed to hire 5 women in a field that was 2/3 male. I think the odds against that are 242 to 1, if there was no discrimination.

I don't believe I have experienced any of the above. However, I do have an interesting short story.

I worked in banking for about 2 or 3 years as a senior lender. Banking doesn't pay as well as you might think, and I liked spending money, so I had a second job at Banana Republic, which afforded me great work clothing for cheap. I had one particular suit I really liked; it was a light sand colour. One one occasion I wore it to work, with a striped green shirt and lime green tie. It looked sharp and modern. The branch manager, a woman whom I had respected greatly up to that point, called me into her office and informed me that how I was dressing made the other employees feel a certain way. She requested that I dress it down a bit. I declined. I followed the dress code. That's the story.

It's real. More so than ever before. DEI departments and groups in large corporations in US are rampant with racist practices favoring women and prominently black women over men. The sad thing is they're hiring based on skin color or lack of balls and regardless if the skillet is there or not. And assuredly it isn't there. US business etc are doomed.

Oh yes. I worked in corporate I.T. for a Fortune 500 company. Upper management made a deliberate push to make first line management 50% female. There were a number of quite qualified males that got passed over in favor of less experienced, less qualified females, so that they could reach the quotas

My company is focused on getting the amount of females in a senior position up. So what that means is right now for the men, you have almost 0% chance of being promoted.

For example in January we had 3 senior positions open up, my team consists of nearly 60 men, and 4 females. All three positions went to the females. Similar thing happened last year as well.

It might not appear an extreme example, but when I was on an internship two years ago, my employers were women who almost never gave me any work to do unless I asked for it. I had to request them to give me work to do because I had to commute for hours to reach the office. The only person who gave me a real job was a man, and it was more like a favor done by me, for which I got nothing in return.

When my Master's exams arrived, I asked for a few days of leave in order to prepare for them. My team leader, a woman, told me to take an entire month off to prepare and clear the exams. I told her I needed only a few specific days off, but she assured me I could return after exams. I took the bait and gave my exams. A month later when I received no calls asking me to return, I rang her up to ask when I could join again.

She told me I had been replaced by a new female intern because I was "taking too much time" and because my work wasn't "satisfying enough".

My mom was unhappy with this and continues to blame me for "quitting" the internship. I have told her countless times it wasn't me who called the shots. I wasted two months attending an internship I was never very interested in, and that's the only reason I accepted this move by my employers. I was also the youngest male intern in the office, but that didn't bother me a lot. IDK if this counts as discrimination per se, but my employers baited me into exiting so that a female intern could be hired.

There was a job I had at a hotel. I was college-educated and a reliable team member. A job opened up that I really wanted. It meant moving from a clerical role to a more analytical role. I had the credentials and familiarity with the business, so I asked about the job. I applied, interviewed, tried to jump through all the hoops, and got rejected. They hire some woman from outside the company. That's how it goes, eh?

Later I found out that they had just point-blank offered the job to an uneducated, unmotivated slacker who worked as a glorified receptionist (her title was "reservation specialist"). She didn't want it, and conveyed that she didn't feel like she was qualified. No problem! They said they could teach her everything if she just wanted the job. But I was rejected because I wasn't qualified and didn't have the experience. At least that's what they told me. No, they didn't want a man in their department. When I left, the woman who replaced me was uneducated and had less experience than I did. She waltzed into my job, which I built and trained her for, and immediately got a promotion and started at $18/hr at full time. I had to fight tooth-and-nail to get more than 20 hours per week at $15/hr. She just gets to make 20% more than me per hour with double the hours, in exchange for nothing. I built that role from the ground up. My position didn't exist at that hotel prior to me. I got hired and internally promoted twice within 8 months. Then a chick shows up, gets all the tools and processes handed to her, and she STARTS in a better situation than I ever had in 3 years of working there. Utter bullshit.

Below are a few of my observations from working in the Biotech field for the last decade:

Women are more likely to get hired and promoted than their male counterparts.
When applying to a given job, men are required to have more experience and education than their female counterparts to be considered qualified.
Male colleagues tend to have a more difficult interview process than their female counterparts.
Companies have created groups/organizations to advocate for the advancement of women at the company (‘Women in Leadership’), but no such group exists for men.
Women are more likely than men to be groomed for leadership roles.
HR departments love to comment on social media anytime they hire or promote a woman into a mid/high leadership role. They make similar posts when X percentage of the company consists of women employees.

The truth is that in many industries, the modern day ‘Scarlett Letter A’ is being a straight, white (or Asian) male. When a company says they’re trying to get more diverse, they’re mainly just trying to avoid these types of candidates, even if that means hiring someone else that is unqualified.

Prior to working in my field, my political views were very progressive (left of left). But the rampant bias and discrimination against men has turned me away from that ideology. Because for some reason, it’s currently mainstream and socially acceptable to hate upon men.

In Kyiv, now on works of junior level (Coffee shops, shops etc) hire only women. For young men only work - in infantry.
