Her losing streak continues, judge told her no reason for a 604b, you've been doing 50/50 for over a year and basically said her allegation have no merit and then her lawyers fought with judge again, it was a zoom hearing and her lawyer decided to show up at the courthouse then tried to get into the courtroom and judge instructed the bailiff not to let them inside the court it was crazy.

Then GAL said her allegations have no merit and thinks we're close to a settlement, and told judge mom agreed to the 50/50 over a year ago no reason we should at this point.

BUT now my lawyer has done a 180 and instead of being sheepish lets ask for 50/50 and move on he thinks I should do the psych evals and change to asking for majority time and decision making because GAL is now saying he thinks mom is mentally ill.

I'm just over a year into it. In Sep I said all I wanted was 50/50, everything else is just math problem. She said "hell no". She claimed abuse. We went through GaL process. For even more delay she demanded mediation which I told her would go nowhere. GaL recommended 50/50 in April and she refused to give me the time. Mediation didn't solve anything.

Finally went to court a couple weeks ago. Got my 50/50 because it's the law.

Now we go back in January because she's demanding alimony she doesn't qualify for and wants me to pay for her lawyer.

I told her 50/50 was the law. I told her her lawyer is overpriced. I told her I don't have any money to pay alimony from. Eventually you just internalize the "I told ya so" and stop caring.

It's unfortunate, but a lot of people make family court, their "Hill to die on." Leaving a scorched earth plan that leaves them and their spouse and the children in a financial desert.

Sorry to hear that. Do what you can to have trial date scheduled ASAP, this should motivate her. Also, never start negotiations in the middle.

You were right to not settle for the 6/8 and demand 50/50. If you set the precedent of conceding what’s yours rightfully now you’ll deal with her trying to take more and more until the kids are 18. Fight and win the war now, confine the discomfort to now and don’t concede when it will just extend everything and be more cumulative pain in the long run.

Never give up fighting for your kid, you are actually being fair, atp it just seems like she’s got personal issues that she needs to sort out and that can be detrimental to your lil one , trust me the court will take all that into consideration and see who’s the better fit parent, if you can ask for residential custody

Yep they do this. They’re guided entirely by their own emotions (they can’t help that) but you can’t negotiate using reason or logic - it’s simply impossible. You either keep fighting to the bitter end or when the money runs out, or you give up - thems the options I’m afraid.
