The essentialist pov that men don't support their own rights or interest because that's in their nature or they are using their own free will to do so, It's an essentialist fallacy. Men are thought to not care about themselves that learning process is at the very heart of the discrimination against men, a learning process which btw benefits women.

That "men don't care about themselves" is one of the tools of discrimination against men, so men can't not be blamed about the very tool imposed on them to opress them.

I think we generally place a higher value on the opinions of the opposite sex and when we hear so much about how they hate us all so much and we all need to just fk off then it's going to be really hard to make any sort of progress.

There is a level of truth in the underlying message here, but this person seems like someone who understands that Twitter/X rewards conflict and contentious opinions and she's getting the engagement she had hoped.

There is certainly some truth in the fact that men have failed to organize in a similar way as women. One example is looking at how we still have this corrupt family court system that inherently favors women and mothers over fathers.

But at the same time, her point about how men "severely damage the women in their lives who try to care for them" — how many of us have tried to tell our girlfriends or wives or neighbors or colleagues that what they're doing hurts and then they resent you for it? How many times have you confided in a woman only for her to use that information as ammunition at a later point? There is a reason why men have to keep things to themselves.

And I'm also just tired of feminists concluding that therapy is always the answer to everything. It can be helpful, but men seem to do better in support groups where they can talk among themselves and learn from one another instead of sitting in a room and paying to vent to someone who just sits there and listens and doesn't provide feedback.

FYI her tweet is thinly veiled misandry, and she's getting absolutely destroyed in the comments for it. There's also a high probability it's botted. Critical Drinker had a good response that's going viral. All of the spaces that men created have been destroyed and turned inside out by women in the name of "inclusivity", with the boy scouts being the latest example. Additionally all of the gaming, DnD, warhammer, board games circles have basically tried to ostracize and exclude men for not wanting senseless race swaps, feminism and LGBTQ+ retcons. We want our own spaces, but women like her want to spoil anything that is beneficial to men.

One of her replies speaks volumes to her intentions as it comes down to: Men can't have male spaces, but they can have male safe spaces. Reading between the lines, what she is advocating for are spaces like menslib: Where everything is framed in a way that appeases the needs of women first and where mens needs come second, if at all.

People like her don't want men to have agency, but at the same time also don't want to take on the burden of taking care of men who don't have agency.

She's speaking bullshit and bullshit makes up 99% of X.com tweets. Women's shelters and spaces are overwhelmingly funded by the govt. Same goes with workshops and anything else catering to women. Men's spaces, including mental health spaces, workshops and anti-suicide phone lines, are almost exclusively funded by men as private citizens or via companies ran by (mostly younger and successful) male tech entrepreneurs.

If she invested just 5 seconds to google even some of the leading organizations such as movember, she'd know these are completely independent of any government spending, unlike breast cancer or anything else that's overwhelmingly designated towards dealing with "women's issues", but this attitude is apparent even with issues that disproportionately affect men, such as suicide prevention, homelessness, drug addiction, list goes on.

Even poverty, temporary assistance, medical support and many other programs are specifically designed to primarily help women and thus i.e. conditions or definitions of poverty and so on are obviously made to favor women and to make sure resources are allocated in such manner.

I'm a medical student as well. There's so much stigma around overall health for men. I'm going into Oncology and focus on outreaching men. I've helped many men on reddit with advice and suggestions via private messaging. Men simply need a little extra help to get going sometimes. So many men are used to putting others first and begin thinking and stigmatizing thinking about themselves.

But you and I, as future physicians, can be the change we want to see. We do not rely on women's opinions to be valid. We should seek self growth regardless of what they think. Men need some help and there's nothing wrong with reaching a hand out to make a change. There is something wrong with women mocking men, however, which is asinine as so many men who fear seeking mental health treatment are the ones who fought in wars and went through some serious shit. As always though, we will prevail.
