After watching a few videos explaining how to approach women in the street, I (34M) decided to give it a go. You should know I'm not a particularly good-looking guy and not all that experienced with women - although I'm taller than average, my other features are nothing to write home about. I've had a couple of girlfriends in the past but nothing really serious and had been 'out of action', so to speak, for a few years as I changed jobs and moved abroad, focusing on my career and education.

I'll admit that my first few approaches were quite awkward - although the women smiled at me and appreciated my compliments, I didn't get very far before they made their excuses and moved on. But it wasn't long (after 5 approaches, I think) before I got a really cute girl's number and set up a date. The chemistry wasn't there on the date but not to worry - I subsequently tried a few more approaches and about 2 months ago, I met my current girlfriend. I've honestly never had such a good connection with anyone and she has everything I'm looking for - joyful, cheerful, great sense of humour (and a real babe!). She appreciates what she calls the 'old-fashioned' way that I approached her - she also thinks how we met is a great story to tell (much more romantic than meeting on line)!

In total, I think I approached 25 women before I found her. I don't know what the usual odds are in terms of how many women you need to approach before you come across a suitable match. (I'd be interested in hearing other people's experience on that.) I don’t know if I was incredibly lucky to find someone compatible - I read of other men who approach 100s and never find anyone. And it was not all plain sailing. I reckon only half te women I approached were receptive (the rest said they had boyfriends or were in a rush). A couple of women I approached gave me daggers and tried to look as horrified as possible. The negative reactions put me off for a while - one actually became quite belligerent and told me I shouldn’t be approaching women on the street (even though it was in broad daylight with plenty of people around) and that I should go to bars instead as that is the β€˜socially acceptable’ way to do it. But I persisted and finally found someone.
