Several years ago I went to work on an oil rig at sea for 5 months. There were no women on the rig and we were all dudes in our 20s - late 30s. You can imagine the sexual frustration. All we did was talk about sex and share stories about hooking up with chicks. By the time we left, We were all horny enough to want to screw anything that moved. I didn't care about rejection or anything. I just needed to find a woman so I could "release" in every sense of the word.

I jumped online and swiped right on every profile. Dating apps, online dating websites. I paid for full subscriptions, I got good photos done, wrote a kickass profile that ticked all the boxes. I had 2 weeks off and just focused on online dating 24/7 like it was a full time job. I got ghosted, submarined, etc. etc I'm sure you guys can relate. It was like working at a call center. I did the shotgun approach. I wasn't attracted to many of my matches. But I didn't care at this point.

So I just went for it and had a fling with 4 women in the space of a few weeks. 2 of women I was seeing overlapped. Every time things didn't work out, we broke it off and I'd feel like a piece of me died. An emptiness kinda feeling. That's when I knew I didn't like online dating and casual relationships. You meet a stranger, share intimate moments with them and then you never see them again. It's a horrible feeling. It might be different for you, that's cool. I'm not here to judge. I did it and found out it's not for me.
