A close friend of mine had a seemingly wonderful marriage for 12 years. They left love notes to each other whenever one of them left the house. The problem is some women are extremely good at going for the long play. They will be equal and giving at first to lure a guy into marriage, but once that marriage contract is secured, things change.

Cheating is probably more common now. Just be secure in yourself enough to trust someone else; if you have good resolve, you’ll weed out the bad ones.
You can trust a woman by making sure you’re securing enough to withstand the negatives that come with attachment. Money is a shitty one with divorce and child support. There’s no circumstance where you can feel the benefits of a relationship without becoming vulnerable to some degree. I think a lotta dudes get comfortable and complacent, so if things go sideways, they’re left a dust in the wind.

There are people who said women just look for stable average men for relationships and sense of secure , but they would bang other more “ attractive “men when they are in a stable relationship .

I'm pretty sure this is why my mom ended up cheating on my father. Ended in divorce and lots of financial and emotional ruin within the family, but mainly for my father. Something she always told me was that she sought out my father for his stability and security, but she never mentioned much if she was attracted to him. He was financially well off, and very good with money... well despite this, she ended up cheating on him... some of it due her trying to fulfill some of her own insecurities I think, but I also think that she didn't find my dad fully attractive in her eyes. My dad isn't even a bad looking guy imo, I just don't think she found him particularly attractive. I don't think it is right to say that she was being a gold digger, she could care less about the status of it, she just cared about the stability, but that was basically it I think.

Physical attraction is both an objective and subjective phenomenon. Objective mattering most probably in terms of overall attractiveness, but the subjective part should not be ignored either. I think my mom ignored her subjective attraction points, which isn't good to do, and definitely isn't fair to my father.

Anyways... she is with a tall and objectively good looking bad boy with financial issues now... so she really went for the other side of the coin so to speak (and imo, the wrong side of the coin, but that is my 2 cents... no pun intended xD).

I think it is hard to know how to choose the right person. Women have been tasked with it for centuries, and they still do it wrong apparently lol. Best thing you can do to ensure you find a girl who cares about equality of gender is to continue to care about it yourself. Care about men's rights while also caring about women's rights. They are both very important, and I think you will naturally attract someone who feels the same.

Also, cheating is not as common as the internet makes it seem... Though cheating does happen... roughly 20-25% of marriages experience it. But hey! That means 75% don't! Still kinda scary though not gonna lie xD

They change, and it’s impossible to know. Take it from someone whose wife — after they’ve been together happily for over 10 years, married for 4, and bought a house and had a child together just 2 years ago — just falsely accused their husband (me) and had them arrested so she could get a no contact order. That way she could ensure I can’t ever have any contact with her or my son, or live in my house (which I bought for us, stupidly)… and I’m now typing this from the couch we bought together in what might be the last day I ever spend in my home again, unsure if and when I’ll ever see my son again. I’ve been, shamefully, crying nonstop since Thursday because I just want to see my son, even if it’s on FaceTime.

They change, and they’ll do it on a dime. Even when they know you’re as passive and non-threatening, and as good a father and provider as can be, they’ll still claim the opposite, get you kicked outta your home, and told you can’t see your child (when they’d previously told you they deeply agree with your conviction and philosophy that it’s always best for a child to grow up on a two parent household (so long as both parents are decent parents obviously) and that even in the cases of divorce, she just couldn’t understand who would ever deprive their child of seeing one of their parents. Now she’s on of those parents doing exactly that, and I still don’t know what for.

Edit: did I mention I even bought and opened/started a business last year, just so I could run a shop on the weekends that, within another year, would generate enough income for us that would allow her to quit her job and be a stay at home mom (which she wanted) - so I busted my ass working 14+ hours every day for the last year or so to try and help make her dream a reality. And now I can’t even run the shop, because I’m not allowed here… on my property

Do you want to fk other people too? We all hear constantly how difficult it is for everyone to keep it monogamous. We hear it in songs, we see it on tv, we see the neighbours fight. It is such a common theme and me, personally, cannot understand how people continue to not want to be honest and forward with this topic. People in committed relationships, fking other people? Happens, it is super common.

So find someone who seems open and transparent with their communication and values, someone who acts according to those principles they say they have. Also, be ready to be challenged in your flexibility and sensitivities, because that's what it takes to have a committed relationship with someone.
