Notice the importance you give to the changes you know you should make. You treat it as a massive nearly impossible to-do list when in reality it's small incremental change.

The difficulty you associate with these changes is what's causing you to retreat. It seems like too much. Get past this by noticing slight improvements. Last week you squatted 120lbs and this week you did 130lbs. You still have the thighs of a teenage girl, but at least you have quantifiable improvement.

What can't be measured can't be managed.

Why does a man fail?

He fails because he hesitates, and the moment is gone. His courage falters, and he cannot go through with it.

How does a man succeed? He does not concern himself with whether he "can" or "cannot". He dives in a worries about not being able to later.

That's all very pretty, but it's pretty useless aside from feeling motivated. You need discipline.

The next time you're hungry, go out for a walk. Walk past a fast food joint, and allow yourself to feel the pull of the shop. Let your stomach growl and your instincts to feed drag you towards the shop. But don't go in. Just keep walking. Nothing difficult, just keep walking. That's all there is to it. One foot in front of the other. It's not hard - in fact, it's easier to keep going on the same path than it is to change directions and go out of your way to go into the shop.

The next time you see a pretty girl, walk over. It would be easier to keep walking towards her than it would to divert your course - in fact, it's the easiest thing in the world to keep going. It requires that you just obey the laws of momentum.

Well, now you're there. She's looking at you. Introduce yourself. It would be easier to introduce yourself now you're there than to make things really awkward for both of you by walking up and walking away.

Chat for a minute or so. Nothing big, just find out her name, what she does, and if there are any nightlife spots she recommends. Easy questions, nothing difficult. Again, there's nothing difficult here - you could ask anyone basic questions about yourself.

Well, you're done. Hey, you've got to go. You'll see her around. The encounter is over - you're leaving, and all you have to do is walk away. Maybe go get a coke or a coffee. Read a magazine. Do it again tomorrow. And the next day. And the next. You see hundreds of people each day - you'll never see these women again, and that doesn't matter. You're not trying to bang them, you're just making basic small talk, finding out about any good nightlife spots, and then leaving.

Same here. I think it's because I have to fight all the ingrained beliefs, habits and behaviors from so many years.

Come to think about it, it's absurd to believe that all it takes for someone to change is read the required documents many times until he understands it. You also need to practice it.

Quit being a pussy. You already know what to do and answered your own question. Start one step at a time. Go lift a the gym one day. Then do it again. And again. Once that becomes a habit move on to the next. Approach girl. Then approach another, and so forth.

Accountability helps. Get an accountability partner. Fess up every time you sink back into your old ways. Eventually that constant reminder that you are not doing the right things will make an impact.

Also, don't underestimate the importance of time and self-care. Beating yourself up because you aren't instantly some sort of red-pill level 80000 alpha male is only going to make your situation worse. Celebrate the small victories, have your own back during those small defeats.

Start with the thing about you that you hate or annoy you more, read how to change and how you must behave in that situation, keep it in mind all the time and if you can trigger the event, go out of you comfort zone not just waiting to happen, make it happen and apply what you read, think about it as an experiment just to know what is the result, don't give a fuck about nothing else. I try as hard as possible of do this everyday.

TRP doesn't just try to change your body, it also tries to change your personality.

Well and good, but past your teens, this is phenomenally difficult. You simply can't do it overnight; you've spent 20+ years becoming who you are. You might be able to put a few things into practise every now and again when you remember, but for the changes advocated by RP philosophy to become habit, this takes a long time to sink in.

Personally, I find it helps to force myself NOT to make a knee-jerk reaction to things that happen in my life, but instead to sit down, shut up and ask myself "What does the natural alpha do here?".

You won't always be able to answer this question straight away, but quite often you'll realise that your immediate instinct is telling you to do something the natural alpha most certainly does NOT do.

I think this is part of the reason lifting / working out is so important. It's a physical habit that you can eventually have an effect on your psychological state as well. It's not enough, on its own, but it's a great start in regards to building self discipline and slowly creating the life you want. Start there, and then add additional daily habits... Such as approaching just one girl a day with no fucks given regarding outcome. Daily, incremental, change is the KEY.

All of my reading, TRP, it all came into place when I approached random dudes, women, cops, anyone and saw how much i could get them talking.

Also to completely demolish approach anxiety I was handing out "hand hygiene" pamphlets as a joke to everyone.

Choose one thing to work on. Master that. Choose something else. Work on that. Master it. Becoming a better person is about incremental change, your not going to wake up tomorrow a completely different person, but you could be a compeltely different person a year from now.

You can't really change from the inside out you have to change from the outside in. Isolate one habit you want to change and boil it down to one single action at one moment in time and then DO THAT ACTION. Rinse and repeat. After you get into the movement of this, your mindset will change as a consequence

Think about it from a different perspective. Instead of saying that you read RP and don't get results think of it like soccer(or anything really) If you sit there and read how to do the perfect kick but never set foot on the field you will never be good no matter how much you read. You need to get out and practice.

Close your books and close your laptop. You know what you have to do, and you know you have to do it in baby steps: go to the gym once and approach one girl. Do not reopen a book or your laptop until you've done these.

How do you go change?

you fucking go

go out. Turn off your phone. Anywhere. Just go. Set a timer for 3 hours. Take fifty bucks.
don't get drunk, get chatty. Converse with everyone. Take mental notes. Approach, approach approach.
your goal is to get turned down a dozen times in that three hours. Cut conversations off early if you must. It's better to leave early than late.
come home. Write an fr. Don't post it until you've repeated five times. Then post the improvements in that fr over those 5 times. By then you'll know exactly where you need help, what you can and can't seem to apply.
after posting the fr, increase your goals, repeat again. Trp can really only help those practicing, it's just another time sink without use.

There are no excuses, you do this, or you don't. If you don't, your competition will. you control your agency. So turn off the screen and fucking GO.

I highly recommend you "Gorilla Mindset" by Mike Cernovich and his blog dangerandplay.com. It's all about action with detailed explanation HOW to actually act.

I had the same problem as you. It took me about a year to actually see notable changes. Leave your comfort zone, do whats emotionally hard for you. That's how you grow. And remember, you will fail A LOT and that's totally ok - you can't change your whole psyche in a week.

Determination is the key!
