My husband and I (27F and 31M) have been married for 6 years now. We got married after 6 months of dating and knew each other were the one.

We both have colorful pasts. We both grew up extremely poor to single moms with really bad home lives and no good influences in our lives, which I honestly believe is what to let to us both having issues in our teen and early 20's. He is a recovered alcoholic and got sober at 21, after doing many things he regrets (10 years sober!). We got married when I was 21 a year after I had quit being a stripper and went to college for engineering. We actually met while I was a bikini barista and in college still and his work was nearby (he is an engineer too). I grew up in a liberal area and fell into the trap of the liberal mindset where you get to be a wild and free woman. Imagine my shock and horror when I found out that is not how life works. I still deal with regret and shame for my past. I tell myself the best I can do is be an amazing wife and good person. Totally wild story.

We got married when I was 21 and moved in together almost immediately and started living a more traditional lifestyle. I do most of the cooking and cleaning so he can focus on his intense job. I honestly feel like both of us were saved by following the life script, getting married young and following the red pill lifestyle.

We are now born again Christian's living a very regular and boring lifestyle. We go to church weekly and have a God centered relationship. I dress modestly and try to be as good of a person as I can. We have both repented for our sins in our younger years and continue to pray about it regularly. I never drank much like him, but we do not drink, smoke or use any kinds of drugs. I know we will never be perfect people, but it works for us and we are perfect for each other. The best we can do is look to God for guidance. We are Replublicans. He is very dominant in our relationship, though I do have a bit of a strong personality. It works well for us.

One aspect of our relationship that is not traditional is that I still work. Me working has allowed us to become very financially stable. I absolutely love my job. I make a about 120-150k per year working as an engineer. My husband is an engineer also and earns the same. We have been able to pool our finances together to make 250-300k and it has gotten us really far. We have a 400k NW and are on track to be at 1M in the next 5 years when I am 33. We own the house we live in and two rental properties. We are considering buying a vacation home soon. We travel about 1-2x per month domestically and 1x per year internationally.

We are both unsure if we want kids. I cannot have kids biologically, which he knew before getting married. So we would likely go the adoption route. Due to us both having troubled pasts, we have decided that if we have kids we will adopt from foster care. We feel like we have the empathy and understanding to help these kids and would do our best to be good parents. We are very career focused at this time so that's kind of on the back burner for now. I think once we hit around 1M NW I might consider stepping back and being a SAHM and managing our rentals on the side, if we end up adopting kids. I likely will continue working if we don't.

I handle the cooking, half of the cleaning, admin work and finances. He is naturally super handy and does all of the work on our houses. I take so much pride in cooking and feeding my husband healthy home made meals. I love to take care of him, being a wife is the most rewarding and motivating thing in my life. We are 6 years married and have never been more in love.

Anyways, sorry for rambling on. I just wanted to share my story in the instance that it would resonate with anyone. I know that I may get some judgement here, please be kind.

I am also open to questions.
