There is so much social pressure on women to bash men today that even women who do not hate men still bash men. Probably the worst examples are memoirs written by women. I actually can't recall a review of a memoir written by a woman that did not say something negative about men.

What brought this to my mind now is I just read a post in one of the egalitarian subs. Since we cannot post links to another sub here, I decided to copy/paste the OP here. Here it is.

"So, a pick me girl is a girl or woman who down plays/ puts down other women to get male validation (or nowadays, women that disagree with feminists).

However, isn't this concept sexist or at least, promoting a gender expectation? A gender expectation that women must support other women just because they share a gender and that we shouldn't support men because they're a different gender.

So, does that mean men should support other men over women and that would be justified?

Why does gender matter in this conversation exactly? If it was a woman putting down/ down playing men for female validation, what would that be called?

Are there pick me men? Would feminist men be considered male pick mes (I think not, men can be progressives honestly and not just because they want validation)?

Can the feminists in this subreddit please explain this better and respond to my questions? Thank you."
