Think about it for a moment. It's scripted and unnatural interaction if it's a movie or show. Someone recommended old Craig Ferguson talk show clips and I agree he has a great style. But you also have to realize everyone has their own style and actors, comedians and entertainers are putting on a performance. You shouldn't emulate someone else or fake a persona just to appear more lively or interesting. You need your own voice and way of being yourself that isn't fake.

Films and stuff are scripted. It's just not realistic

Reality TV was actually a good one, BUT in the last decade or so reality tv is also not real. It's all semi scripted

But for example, big brother in the UK used to be completely 'real'. Pre social media and stuff. Contestants didn't even get famous and went back to their day jobs and stuff. And with the very early series they had no idea how much of what they said was even being broadcast and even assumed nobody was really watching!! I used to like watching how some of the players who went on the bang girls in the house went about it!)

The easiest way to learn such things is with routines/scripts that are specially designed to help you continue a conversation, escalate to kino, or create a playful conversation.

1- to continue a conversation:

- Did you say you are a cashier? No way! I have a friend who told me about her ex that she is a cashier, and he said... [insert a funny story]

- Did you see that guy wearing a black shirt? He reminds me of a time when I was in XYZ-city and a guy who looked like him... [insert a funny story]

- escalate to kino:

Simply tell her: "Come here, I want to tell you a secret" , once she's closer, hug her neck or waist while you whisper to her: "I'm thirsty, and I need a beer/vodka/water... are you thirsty too?"... at the end you can even slightly bump her with your hip.

In case she says something funny, you can slightly punch her shoulder, and now you force a momentum by saying: 'Ouch, that hurt! You're so strong! Are you a pro-weightlifter? You're so strong... let me see your biceps!' Now, playfully grab her biceps and pretend it's huge and she's strong, even if she's as weak as a feather. This gives you another reason to ask her if she weighs much, so you can lift her and evaluate her weight.

Movies and shows will be tough as it’s Hollywood and stuff that’s in Hollywood won’t work in real life. So the banter can be challenging.

Reality tv shows may be more realistic for that.

I used to suck a lot of convos. Best thing you can do is relax. If you’re nervous in your head you’ll always be bad. More you do it the more you relax
