I was talking regularly with a girl for a couple of weeks. We're in different time zones (6 hours apart), but the vibe was great: deep convos, shared interests, natural flow, etc.

Timeline:

  • Convo ends one day with a normal message from me.
  • 5 days later, she replies, she says she is very busy with work, new responsibilities, she has to do twice the job he was doing, and sorry for going away for that many days. We talk a lot that night, she sends a lot of voice messages (13ish), and we have a nice conversation.
  • I send her a casual message the next day.
  • 2 weeks and 5 days go by, then she replies again. Saying again she has been very busy with work the whole time, life also has been busier, and she had to move as well, get boxes, buy stuff, etc. She apologized and owned it.
  • I respond the day after, telling her that I understood but that I was surprised by her silence and that I had wondered if she had given up on the conversation. I still tell her that it must have not been easy and I ask her how she has been doing in her new place, etc. (all in one message).
  • Now it’s been 9 days of silence again.

She mentioned that she's super busy with work and life every time. That said, the gaps are getting wider and it feels like I'm the one putting in more effort.

Her messages are still good when they happen, no weird vibes, but the inconsistency is confusing. Should I wait it out a bit longer or take the silence as a sign to move on? I always find the time to respond to her, why can't she?

Would appreciate some perspective. Thanks.
