Introduction

There's an obsession within seduction and PUA community related to the topic of "showing romantic/sexual interest". Some years ago, when I started wandering these places, there was this mantra that said something like "if you don't want to become her friend, don't treat her like a friend". Then, other concepts like "frame" where stressed out a lot. Everything suggested that it was a good idea to turn into "hunter" mode when you approached a girl. Yeah, not good.

I came back to this sub recently and man, has this changed for better. But still, the obsession hasn't dissapeared. It just changed it's form. Now the focus has changed into "showing romantic/sexual interest without being creepy/needy etc". The issue I have with this present approach is that... It's impossible to accomplish! the minute you show sexual or romantic interest in any shape or form, you will instantly manifest your desire to cover your own needs, and so, she will know she has power over you to some degree. And sadly, unless she really likes you, this will always play against you (and even when she likes you, giving her control over you will probably turn her off too).

A different approach (with field report)

Lately I've been through a dry spell. I wasn't feeling smooth, and even when I did everything "right", I still faced disinterest. I always felt forced and unnatural at some point. So I recently decided to experiment and gave up on this constant inner and outer fight to "show intention".

Yesterday I had an event where I spent the day with 4 really attractive friend girls (there was more people out of my group there, so a big meeting). From the very first minute, I felt a completely different energy. I was just trying this different approach, but it felt like I had completely rewired my brain. I felt more calm, collected, playful, inspired and funny than ever before. The girls instantly responded too. Even the more timid one was cracking jokes on me from early on, and my favorite one from the bunch (I've had a crush on her for a while) started to lay her forearm on my lap whenever she sat next to me. I didn't freak out or anything, I continued talking to her normally, sometimes lightly touching her arm too. Later when we stood apart, she was giving looks all the time (she has never been like this before).

Conclusion

You can disagree, but I'm starting to realise that a man doesn't have to show romantic or sexual interest first. Just like the FAQ on the sidebar's wiki says, it has to be a 50/50 effort, and to me, most of that 50% from the guy is covered just with approaching and being social, while the girl has to be the one to give some kind of innuendo first, which is most of her 50%.
