This can't be just me noticing it. I always see romance being portrayed as men giving women. Men loving women, initiating, caring for, being soft for women, etc. Even when it's simply kissing or hugging, it's like the dynamic is the man loving the woman, while she is being loved.

It just feels like so many women (not all) love being loved, not actually loving the man. I've always thought women were romantic, but on social media, they want it to be a one way thing.

Why do we normalize this. I simply would despise a woman who wants to be loved by me but doesn't love me. It feels so fake and dismissive of my need for love. It seems like the man is there to serve her. How would I even love her if that's the case.

And I've realized this bleeds into every part of the relationship, where the man is catering to the woman. It's so frustrating. Anytime I even question this narrative (or any bias against men), I'm just shamed and insulted.

You can't even suggest that many women don't actually love men, because then you're an "incel". But they constantly talk about men not loving women.
