MeToo took quite a hit due to some clearly false allegations, but given our gynocentrism, I have no doubt it will be back.

I spend some time in higher education groups. Most there still think accused college men don’t deserve basic due process procedures.

I can’t say what impact the Epstein files will have, but there are still sadly a lot of people who feel accused men should be treated as guilty based on an unproven accusation alone which is clearly prone to abuse, and could raise it’s ugly head again.

In the sense that whatever activistic social movements result from this will also be broad-brush point-missing misdirections, then my guess would be yes.

Watch as this issue is used by propagandist and useful idiot alike to shadowbox the usual vague and faceless [and therefore, ultimately unconquerable] enemies: political party (as each of the binary red/blue parties go on to blame the whole of this on the other), gender demographic (I won't link it, but there's already an opportunistic goober on Substack posting her article titled & subtitled: Not all men? I'm losing confidence in this idea / The Epstein files tell us who men really are - maybe we should believe them.), and economic system (i.e. “These 1%ers could all pay their way out of having any justice served to them, so capitalism as a whole is surely to blame—a socialist utopia could never have this occur”).

The mob never was great at contemplating nuance. Empty cans make the loudest noise. Some things never change.

Those in power will simply sidestep out of the limelight (I'm curious how long Bill Gates will be absent from the public eye, for example), or will find new things to agitate viewers of the news cycle, and nothing will ultimately be done to correct any real factors that might cultivate and sustain such malfeasance.

Unfortunately, given the number of very wealthy people involved with Epstein, it's more likely to lead to more widespread acceptance of pedophilia. As far as I can tell, conservatives cannot admit that the president was involved, so there won't be a bipartisan backlash.

Trumps handling of the Epstein files and his treatment of his supporters, will likely cause the Republicans to lose control of the House and (possibly) the Senate. Impeachment will then engulf his last 2 years in office.

That's literally the entire point: these reports are about people who the government felt it didn't have enough evidence to prosecute. It's fully intended to engender fear and resentment, because that's the only possible outcome.

Here's a fun game: take a look at the people calling for action against Celebrity X because of what "the files" say about them, and then compare that with what those people have to say about the media giving the names of accused rapists, but not their accusers.
Bonus points if the released information is just short, vague emails with no reference to anything illegal or even sketchy.

Just don't make a drinking game of it; you'll be dead of alcohol poisoning before Easter.

I believe this will lead to a second, and even more intense MeToo that will likely, once again, ignore, minimize, and erase woman and girls who are victims of women (nothing new here), men and boys who are victims of women (nothing new here) and of course, men and boys who are victims of men (unless its as a "patriarchy hurts men too!" as a gotcha and never gets discussed beyond that, or as a "see how evil they are, they even abuse males!" which then never gets discussed beyond that).

Of course I have an intense fury against powerful people who engage in CSA and the like. I also have an intense fury against powerful people who have civilians they don't even know or care to know blown to pieces in parts of the world us Americans barely know anything about besides "its nothing but desert, right?".

These people want to fight and rage against corrupt and evil politicians and other powerful men but do absolutely nothing against morally corrupt and completely evil people next door who brutalize their own children (bonus points if the abuser is the mother, and super ultra bonus points if the victim is mentally disabled but has been an adult for years so "just think positive and I'll pray for you or something like that").

The more things change, the more they stay the same. I really, really hope I'm wrong about this.

Seems there are too many social justice warrior politicians and celebrities involved. I have literally heard sjw types defend pdf saying it is a sexuality. The people have no standards.
