Well boys, it happened. Weeks ago I posted about my wife storming off after a fight. 3 weeks of silence and I came home to her sitting on the couch waiting for me.

We talked for a good 5 hours like we never have before. We ate dinner together and watched a show. It was bittersweet spending one last night with her in the house we built together.

We came to the conclusion that, although we are proceeding with the divorce, we want to remain close friends. She decided that I should keep the house and wouldn’t want the money she also put into it. She didn’t want anything monetarily, she just wants us to stay friends and healthily coparent together. I vowed to help pay off her car, get her some furniture and make sure she is safe and happy. It’s the least I can do.

We are going to a mediator this week to see what all needs done. I imagine it’s going to be a rough road for the next year or so, but we are now communicating more than we ever have and I have faith it will get better with time.

I just wanted to share this with ya’ll to tell you that it’s not *always* doom and gloom in divorce. Sometimes you both just drift apart and realize it’s the best thing you can do for both of you.
