The Canadian study is garbage because they only included the subset of men that said they did something “coercive“ and then asked the details, classifying things in the usual feminist way. You kissed her without specifically asking consent. She says she wanted you to kiss her and enjoyed the kiss. Ok, you raped her. So all it shows is that almost all men know these stupid rules and can accurately report if they broke them or not. If you look in the additional material you find out that only a few percent of these men actually did anything that normal women would consider inappropriate never mind actual rape. And remember they are only a subset of all men, any men that said they did nothing at all are not even counted in the denominator.

The Ashton Kutcher thing wasn’t a complete hoax. He usually remembered to phrase it as 100000 to 300000 girls being at risk, but at least once left out the “at risk” part, and often left out that this included Mexico and Canada as well as the US. Correctly worded this does reflect research from Univ of Pennsylvania. The methodology was somewhat dubious, but the main issue was that “at risk” just means any girl in a family situation at higher than normal risk and even the authors suggest that the actual number of girls trafficked for prostitution was a few hundred. I’m not sure we can expect an actor with a brain the size of a peanut to understand this distinction.
