Why? Coming out of the closet was, not just hard, it changed your entire life. It was impossible unless you wanted to be a frigging weirdo to everyone who knew you as a kid, and in my generation people just stayed close to home. Your school friends? Gone. The concept of her being gay but not into you that way was not a conception.

Of course they exist. One of my friends constantly says she wishes she could be attracted to women because she’s “done with men.” There have been many women in my life who have expressed this opinion after breakups or in lonely times.

It's just that men are not allowed to explore their sexuality. Unfortunately being a gay man carries more stigma than being a lesbian.

Yes. Though, the actual percent might be in question(probably lower than what the total reported right now is), considering the percent of women who identify as LGBTQIA+ rises each generation, with it at around 30% for gen z women, mostly driven by bisexual women. I think the percent of women who experience same-gender attraction is higher than the total reported amongst all ages, but it's just that a lot of the older generations wouldn't have considered identifying differently. I can't state just how many times I've heard older women mention it being totally normal to have a fling with another woman, and had sone so when they were college aged, but still identify as straight at the end of the day lol Compulsory heterosexuality is quite a force to reckon with. I think newer generations realize that kinda thing isn't straight compared to older generations and are more allowed to explore because of greater queer acceptance. Idk where the ceiling is. It's probably higher than 30% though.

Also, it's interesting you're asking this during lesbian visibility week lol I'm guessing that episode was probably put out for LVW.

Of course straight women exist. One could totally question their sexuality, and even exist then say “you know what? The opposite gene isn’t for me”, and some might never question it at all. Why would they not exist?
