I was in a similar position with a guy friend. There was some flirting early on in our relationship (3 years of friendship now) that made me think he was interested, cue a long lasting unrequited crush as I became his female bff instead. I eventually told him I had feelings for him, he said he did not feel the same/ was not ready for a relationship, and when I brought up the past flirting he admitted yeah there was something there but it didn’t go anywhere (he did not pursue it) and we should not have acted that way (bc he had a girlfriend at the time). I know, I know, I was a tragic pickme at the beginning of this friendship. 😳😳😳. Thank god I have found FDS since and can now continue my friendship with him while now seeing all the reasons he is not exactly the hvm I want anyway. I just wish I had found this sub sooner.

To echo you, yes. With guy friends, if they haven’t acted on their interest they won’t. In other words, if you are confused or not sure, HE DOESN’T LIKE YOU LIKE THAT! And don’t you want to be with somehow who has made you damn sure that you know that he wants you, anyway?

Love this! I ignored a text similarly from a guy in my group who i previously went on a date and slept with when he asked me out again a few months ago. He shouldnt have messed it up the first time! and then they act all awkward intimidated & embarrassed around you next time youre in a group together. bye!!

Exactly. Even if a guy is HVM, if he doesn't like you that way then he's not the right man for you. He doesn't need to be bad for you. If he wanted you that way he'd have make a move by now. Never chase and always move on with your head held high. Better things will come your way and you need to create the mental space and emotionally availability to receive it.

I’m in a pretty similar situation!!! How did you stay friends? What boundaries did you enforce? How did you stop hanging out with him one on one?
