This is my first post that will provide a bit of a background on me and then state a situation. Note that I read a lot of material on MRP and have been implementing it for 9 months with good results.

Background I am 41, she is 44, married 15 years (together almost 20). 3 very well raised kids who I adore. I wouldn't call myself alpha by nature, but I certainly was a drunk captain for the last 10 years. I do well, she was SAHM for the last 14 years and went back to work a year ago (pretty much starting over).

Cheated 3 years ago with 2 women, rewarding them for sex (nothing that involved emotions, important since she cheated emotionally). With one woman it was several times and we got into really kinky sex (which I miss). She found out. Cleaned up (no porn, no masturbation). Sex was good for about a year, things slowly wind down. AWALT.

MPR results About a year ago I realized that we are going down the same path. Found MRP. Read a ton posts here (literally hundreds), swallowed the red pill 9 months ago. Read all the prerequisites, 101, most graduate level and a couple books on stoic philosophy.

As suggested by many of you, slowly introduced the principles but didn't go nuclear. This is a marathon, not a spring. Doing weights (4-6 times a week), lost some weight (I wasn't bad before) but certainly improved on muscles. Bought some new clothes. STFU helped a lot. I started to be assertive, make decisions around the house.

From time time time she was bringing up the cheating and at some point it just felt right to address it. I told her that she needs to get over it and that I am here for our family. I will constantly improve but will no longer accept her attacks. I don't think I would do this if it wouldn't be for MRP wisdom - it felt really great so THANK YOU GUYS!

I never told her or discussed MPR but she certainly noticed the change. I would say that my SMV is 2 points above her, and she knows it. Sex improved drastically.

Problem 1 4 months ago we went back to our home country, she stayed longer with kids. At the end of her stay, she initiated a conversation with her ex. It started on a friendly note but just before her coming back, it got pretty heated. Nothing happened between them (I know, I shouldn't believe her but I do) but she admitted that she didn't know where this would lead if she would stay longer (bonus points for her admitting that). I found out this out by accident. Confronted her when she came back. She tried to make it seem like it was nothing. She said that it was just flirting, she didn't say anything bad.

I then digged some more and found "I love you" messages. Note that in our language this really means "I love you", not "I care for you or I love you my friend". They also had an exchange on some good times they had. AWALT!!!

Her excuse was that she was certain I was cheating again (she noticed the change in me) and she got caught up in his attention to her.

Note that I never got all the messages they exchanged. But I moved on. We had some good discussions since then, and I once again was assertive of what I wanted out of the marriage and out of her (including us being kinky). She does not want to be dominated and her main excuse is that:

  1. I did that with someone else when cheating
  2. She has too much respect for her

I did tell her that as soon as she hears from him, she is calling me right away (regardless where I am or what time it is). I was also clear that she will not respond to him unless I am aware.

MAIN PROBLEM Well, 6 days ago it was her birthday. He has sent her a Happy Birthday message and she replied to it within a minute with a thank you very much message. 90 min later she calls me to tell me that he reached out to her. At first I was okay with it, I can't control who contacts her. She noticed I was cool with it and tells me that she replied to the message.

I told her that this is not a discussion over the phone. Since then we only had one conversation where I told her that she disrespected my wishes of no contact and there is way too much going on for me to not think something bigger is between them.

I've been travelling for the last 3 days and just kept the communication to almost nothing.

My thoughts I want to stay with her as we make a great couple and I still care for her. She has put up with my drunk capitaness for too long, cheating, etc. and it's only fair to give her the same chance. But after having read 100's of MRP messages, I am confused how I go about it.

QUESTION My biggest problem is that I do miss some kinky sex. I know that I should communicate clearly my expectations (I feel that after 9 months of implementing MRP I can do that) but since this is of huge importance to me, do I bring up the fact that I want to dominate her?

Will it not seem like a childish request (I won't say this but in essence, the message would be: if you don't do this, we might not be together)? And I know you can't negotiate desire (in this case it's more than that, and I out to respect the fact that it might not be her kink to be dominated).

But if I don't communicate this, then I am not really stating what is on my mind and I am not giving her a fair chance to address some of my needs.

It seems silly but I am afraid that this will be constantly on my mind. I will be constantly thinking AWALT (she doesn't want to be spanked because she has too much respect for herself, yet as a married women talks BS to an ex?).

Or do I just continue my MRP journey and take it day by day?

Thanks for reading. I am ready for your though but always insightful and fair thoughts. I can also answer any additional questions.

TL;DR: Cheated, cleaned up. Read tons of MPR, been implementing MRP for 9 months. Things improved but about mid way through wife exchanged not so nice messages with her ex. Recently went against my wishes of no contact with him. Torn between moving on, requesting my kinky desires or just taking it day by day.
