Been listening to Patrice O’Neal “black Phillip series” a lot lately.

In the one he says you need to explain to your women when she steps out of pocket. So she knows not to do the shit the next time or she will suffer for it.

I finally stopped GAF about my SO and her little tantrums. Literally I just don’t even care anymore I either just look at her or get away from her. I’ll probably get better at making fun of her when these things pop up. But right now I’m at a point I don’t even want to be around her when she’s like that, because I don’t like the look of her when she’s pissed off.

Anyway, we’re out with friends. She got a little drunk and start acting annoying. I was really having a good time so I walked away from her. Lead the pack to the next spot and continued having fun as if she wasn’t there. She text me. “I’m just not happy. I feel like I don’t exist in your world”

I’m not going to sit there and text her when she’s 5 feet away from me so I act like I don’t even see the text. Continue about the day and still treat her as if nothing is really wrong. Ask her if she wants anything from the one stop. She still is all mad. Whatever.

We get home and she tries to talk about it. I say.

Started by fogging to see how she would respond.

“What made you feel that way?” Etc. It got to a point where she couldn’t answer anymore and goes “I just want to be loved!”

Then I said

“Look. There’s not much to say here. I like being around you. But When you’re annoying. I don’t like being around you. So I don’t”

She said “I wasn’t being annoying.”

I said “you were miserable for no reason. Then expected me to kiss your ass. Why would I do that?”

And that was it really the end of it.

Is this considered DEERing? Or what Patrice is saying, it’s explain to guide her. Not out of your own weakness?

If my child misbehaves I’m going to tell them what they did wrong so they know better for next time. I’d assume this would be the same principle and not the same as DEERing where I’m trying to desperately defend myself over something I did. Am I right?
