I don't really get why it's depressing for some guys. RM1 is like getting the real rule book for the first time.

The exhilaration of 'aaaaah...this makes sense!' was much more overwhelming to me than the disappointment of finding out that unicorns aren't real.

I can’t tell if you’ve hit the anger phase yet but once your through that and reach acceptance it gets good. You now have a cheat code, and the best part is that it’s not even really cheating, you’re just unlocking the real man you’ve kept suppressed all your life. You now can see what you’re capable of. People are saying "anger" even though that wasn't your wording because what you're describing is commonly referred to as the anger phase. I'm about 5 months in, and I'm still feeling it in a big way. So far the best remedies I've found are lifting (channel those feelings into motivation in the gym), outcome independence (just know that knowing what you now know is making you a better man with or without her) and just recognizing that you now have the cheat codes... to all women, not just your wife or LTR since AWALT. I've also found myself laughing at certain shitty behaviours from my wife as I'm recognizing them for what they are - shit tests devised by her reptile brain to make sure I'm still fuckable.

Something to remember about rollo is that most of TRM is talking about things at a macro scale. It's communicating much about the landscape out there and ways you can observe hypergamy in action. This doesn't translate literally to your woman. You have to be aware of the landscape but also not fall into the trap of trying to shove individuals into that model, else you'll become one of the TRP angry lads, which is... unattractive.

But if you come across an individual that checks a lot of boxes as described in TRM, beware.

"Never Split the Difference" is also a great read. If you just want a break from pure sexual strategy reading, this is a great tie-in with WISNIFG.
