I'm a fat wife and I don't care to be, my husband tells me I look great and that I'm beautiful as I am. He also encourages me to keep at it, go to the gym and my lifting classes, because he wants what's best for me and sees the positive effects on me. So my question to OP would be how is he actually encouraging her and supporting her in pursuing a weight loss she may want?

He's observant enough to see that she's going on (likely crash) diets. I feel that women are more likely to diet w/o exercise when they are well aware that their husbands take issue with their wife's weight gain. She probably doesn't exercise often because she has no time. Does she have a full-time job? Is she doing most of the cleaning, cooking, washing, childcare? This was probably omitted from the OP.

How is he as a husband inspiring her and supporting her in her goals and how is he making her feel at the moment. It's one thing to go on a hike and see that she's winded and tell her "we gotta get in shape" and do fun exercises together and maybe even change your lifestyle together, but this is on sided and she really doesn't have any support no matter what she does.

How incredibly uncaring can a partner get. She is dealing with depression and all he cares about is her weight and how inconvenient it is for him to carry her things.

But no it's just "the gamer lifestyle" the depression wasn't involved in this, not at all. How stupid can you be to think that it won't affect exercise, especially when she wasn't the most active anyway?

Get that woman a doctor already, maybe throw in a divorce attorney while you're at it.

I feel like OP didn't read the whole thing 😂 I'VE been in this mans position. My bf gained like 100lbs and I had to gently tell him that I wanted him to get checked for diabetes, get his butt in the gym, be able to walk our daughter down the isle, and not have a bunch of health problems when he got older! It's always better to get on top of health issues sooner rather than later!!

My ex narc fiancé was a former international supermodel who kind let himself go and gained a couple of pounds. He had a gut the entire duration of our relationship. The thing is, IF he was a HVM, I honesty would not have minded, I would’ve loved him for who he was. But the fact is, he is the narcissist devil inside and out, so therefore, after dealing with so much abuse by him, I thought he was disgusting.
