I've even told men this before the first date. If they scoff, then they don't even get a first date. Easy peasy.

I either shove my hand at them for a handshake as they come in or I turn my head so their kiss lands on my cheek awkwardly.

I haven't dated since discovering and learning about FDS but I'd probably recoil, end the date, and then block them. It's LVM shit to initiate physical contact when a woman's demeanor doesn't indicate she'd be receptive to that. Either he's choosing to ignore your cues (which will definitely translate into worse behavior later on and I've been there, done that, and have no interest in revisiting) or he doesn't know enough about body language to tell whether or not you're receptive, in which case he's emotionally stunted and you're better off having nothing to do with him.

I imagine the most badass way to do it would be to move your head backwards in roughly the same speed the are moving their head towards yours. Just awkwardly bending backwards while maintaining eye contact. And then, if they don't get the hint, ask in a very flat, slightly offended and utterly surprised tone 'What are you doing?' to make them self-conscious about their failed attempt and misread signs.

I've straight up just told guys not to touch me, like if they try to put their hand on my arm something. Or said "no" and take a step back if they lean in for a kiss. Not particularly gracious, I guess, but oh well 🤷‍♀️

Ugh this reminds me that I had once had a guy literally lunge at me after a date. We were walking out of the restaurant in the car park and I was talking politely and he just went in. It was so gross. No self control whatsoever. Literally no build up, no lingering eye contact or gentle escalation of touch... nothing. It was obvious the whole meal had just been something for him to tolerate until he could pounce. I just stood there like a deer in the headlights, too stunned to react.

I never saw him again.

This is kind of unrelated but I remember me and my roommates (all girls) role-playing how to get out of a boss/male co-worker going in for a hug. We tried different approaches and figured out a way to smoothly turn it into a handshake. So maybe you can get some girls together and figure out the way you feel most comfortable exiting that scenario :)

Also don't get too caught up in being polite about it in the context of dating, I think someone going in for a kiss without any build up doesn't get appropriate social cues and is therefore a nvm. And if there is build up he should be able to sense you pulling away during the build up and not go any further.

This happened to me a few weeks ago, my response was “hell no..” and turned my whole body away. He went in for a second time where I put up my hand, which his face landed in. Not today Satan!! 🤣
