This needs to be taught to girls. It is sooo ingrained in our culture that romantic love trumps all. I wish I knew when I was younger that it's ok to love someone and still walk away because they don't treat you well. My love for them was not more important than my self respect.

Women are taught that we should “fight” for our romantic relationships, but “fighting” for it should mean, working on your own shortcomings and overcoming external challenges together— not accepting mistreatment..

If it was me the man would manipulate me with "you're mean if you don't forgive me! how can you be such a bad person to not be able to forgive? what about me? what will I do? I'll be too sad! how can you be so heartless? I will never be able to find someone else!". And just like that he's no longer at fault for being a bad partner, it's my fault for wanting to leave, and I'm the one who has to try harder. They are masters at switching it up on pickmes.
