if the women that spoke like this were men, they would be called arrogant pretentious materialistic assholes.

[–]ComeFromTheWater 19 points20 points21 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I've never read a more self-absorbed article in my life. It makes me want to vomit. Seriously, she made a couple of points, but for an article that long, she REALLY talked about herself a lot. A whole lot. Much more than she needed to make a point. And all her friends blah blah blah. That, to me, just screams insecurity.

So, I disagree with you. I think if a man sounded like this, he would come off as a veterinarian grade blue pill. Some of the biggest betas I know are guys that talk about themselves like that thinking it will get them laid. "I have this and that, I went to this school, I've traveled here and there", etc. Guess what? It usually doesn't work. The only reason I say "usually" is that ham planets are pretty desperate.

This article is pretty pathetic and whiny, and I don't give a flying fuck how many Ivy League degrees she has because she's a moron.

[–]TookThePillThatsRed 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's like in english class were you had to reach a word limit so you just threw in a bunch of bullshit. I guess that sticks with some people their entire life.

[–]TRP VanguardWhisper 53 points54 points55 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I don't to read the article at all. I just look at the pictures. I see pictures of a woman who looks like she's made of leather, dressed and acting like a 20 year old.

If you act like a 20 year old girl, but you no longer look like one, well... why wouldn't I just have a 20 year old girl instead of you?

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours 28 points29 points30 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Is she over 50? Damn she looks like she is nearing 60, and she wants a guy in his 30s? What the fuck is she smoking?

[–]reedrichardsstretch 14 points15 points16 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

She's a baby boomer, so definitely over 60.

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours 20 points21 points22 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She looks like the seats in my Trans Am, leathery. She isnt merely post wall, she is post life, its all behind her now with adult diapers and a rest home ahead of her. I hear the people in rest homes fuck like rabbits, so maybe she will get some dick when she goes in the home.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Baby boomers can be in their 50's

[–]reedrichardsstretch 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's true. According to Wikipedia, the birth years for inclusion in the Baby Boomer generation are 1946 to 1964. This gives an age range in 2013 of 49 to 67.

I stand corrected.

this is a perfect example of what happens when you tell women constantly to compete with men.

men dont compete with women. men compete with other men - over women.

[–]Modredpillschool 48 points49 points50 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. It's too bad women don't understand this, because it really hurts the dating pool in my career oriented area of the world.

These women think that competing with me will somehow impress me. I'm not interested. It's just a turn off. I see these women who list their resume and have that aloof attitude like "you have to work to get my attention" and I'm like.. why? Why would I? You've demonstrated that you're unlikely to want to be in a relationship. I'm going to find somebody more agreeable and less combative.

[–]No_disintegrations 16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think you just articulated the problem with most of my dates in the last few years. I could never put my finger on it, but even the most physically attractive women turn me off with this type of attitude.

They often resort to one-upsmanship as well.

[–]salami_inferno 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They completely fail to understand that men are not attracted to the same qualities that they are. I'm baffled that they can have such self-centered understanding of this.

[–]No_disintegrations 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Solipsism is a powerful thing.

[–]Lord_NShYH 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Their career success doesn't mean anything to me. They don't have to work for dick when they are realistic about the types of men they can attract as opposed to the types of men they feel entitled to attract. Whether it's 1 or 1000 dicks, it isn't impressive.

Men have to continuously cultivate unique skills and wisdom; especially as we age. Even if running game gets easier and easier, we still have to put in proportionally more effort than a woman with a wet cunt ready to fuck men in her league. LOL.

[–]puck_mar1n 14 points15 points16 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

this is a perfect example of what happens when you tell women constantly to compete with men.

Truer words were never spoken.

The more that a woman competes with men, either in the workplace or elsewhere, the less attractive she becomes to me. All of those power hungry, do anything to get ahead, "career women" just seem like men. I have no interest in dating them.

Women need to compete with other women over men the same way that men compete with other men over women.

[–]16 TRP VanguardTRPsubmitter 23 points24 points25 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I like how this woman TRIES to start off by being democratic and all-inclusive, but lo and behold the giant hamster comes out almost immediately thereafter:

[women have] brains, beauty, bodies, personality, success et al. Maybe that's it! We have it all and that is just too much for most men! ...I am always told I intimidate men.

How the fuck do these hamsters make up a reason for their situation that is actually the EXACT opposite of reality? In reality, they no longer satisfy what men want/need in a woman, so instead they tell themselves they are actually too good for men? Meanwhile, their male peers don't want them at all and don't even notice these career women because they are too busy dating 25 year olds. It's telling when you claim to be "better" than and "intimidate" men, yet you still want them.

But glad to see she comes around:

This summer, I finally decided I wanted 'off the train'. I want a more meaningful life with a nice life partner. But I may have gotten off too late and missed my station. My marketability with men has diminished. I am an aging boomer. My male counterparts want young eye candy.

Bingo

[–]pro_skub 15 points16 points17 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Looking at the pics "diminished" seems like a very gentle way to put it. Try "plunged".

[–]Endorsed ContributorLastRevision 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This one got me:

"And the men that want me are young boys. I had my boy toy phase, but am over it."

That's just a flat out lie, right? The only way I see this playing out is a sugar mama scenario/guy whose only value to her is his age (in other words, a guy she never would have went near during her own prime).

She's like a fucking 2/10 and she wonders why noone will fuck her. Hell even guys who have almost no chance of pussy would pass on that crusty, dusty vagina.

Also I'm willing to bet she rode the carousel like she stole it.

Also I'm willing to bet she rode the carousel like she stole it.

Hilarious. LOL!

[–]TRIGGER__WARNING[S] 41 points42 points43 points 12 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

It's interesting because there are some valid points of introspection. She understands that the men she wants... want younger women. She understands that having a career and education are also unattractive to men.

But then she hamsters and talks about her wild youth and her greatly embellished lovers. She thinks she has it all and that's what intimidates men. She also mentions how all her strong, independent lady friends can't get married either. I guess today's men just aren't prepared for such a responsibility... (/s)

The part I love the most is when she's talking about her successful, fit male friends and how they're single. She doesn't seem to grasp the fact that they're most likely single because they understand their value, not because they're unable to find a partner.

EDIT: I missed this gem:

So why are all these beautiful babes still single? And where are all the "real men" who want "real women"? That is the million dollar question. Please write me if you have the answers.

I guess women who stay at home aren't real women...or ones who marry early... or every other women that didn't ride the carousel way over the wall.

[–]pcadrian29 points 12 years ago* [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

I don't find women that have a career and education unattractive. If anything, I think it's a wonderful thing. We can split the bill. What I find unattractive is women who have the same attitude in the relationship as they do in the bedroom edit: workplace. You know, the "strong, independent" mentality. The pattern here is obvious. Whenever I hear a woman throw aroudn the "I'm strong and independent" phrase, my attraction switch instantly turns off. It's like it's pre-programmed into my DNA or something.

[–]Modredpillschool 24 points25 points26 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Whenever I hear a woman throw aroudn the "I'm strong and independent" phrase, my attraction switch instantly turns off.

Because at the end of the day, it permeates her entire attitude, her behaviors, and her decision making. She prides herself in her inability to cooperate. She's bragging about something that nobody thinks is a good quality.

So not only does she demonstrate a propensity for not cooperating, but she is proud of it. It's narcissism or something.

Either way, I agree, total and complete turn off. You can even tell that kind of woman from the look on her face- you don't even need to approach them. You already know who thinks they're better than everybody else.

[–]TheRabid 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's the saddest part. She realizes that she's missing something to attract a certain type of man. Rather than realize that, she asks for "real men" (ie certain type of men that don't require what she's missing).

[–][deleted] 36 points37 points38 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Whenever a woman says she's "intimidating" read annoying and self absorbed. I don't get these women that say they're a great catch then read off their résumé. Why does this seem like a good idea.

[–]Kepaso 19 points20 points21 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

''intimidating''...they wish. More like annoying. Men aren't scared of women like her, they just want to be with them.

[–]TRP VanguardVZPurp 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"intense" - whenever a woman describes herself as "intense" it seems to mean bitchy and masculine

[–]Lord_NShYH 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Most of them are rapacious swamp sluts too self-absorbed to connect on any level. Plus, they feel entitled to your bank accounts. I'm not liquidating my assets to make them wet. LOL.

[–]Nutz76 18 points19 points20 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

I am not referring to just any women, but some extraordinary women. Women who have it all: brains, beauty, bodies, personality, success et al. Maybe that's it! We have it all and that is just too much for most men!

This has to be one of the most blatant examples of women being delusional I've seen. The hamster is strong with this one. Men aren't intimidated by women like this, they avoid them because they're difficult, and that's putting it nicely.

I am always told I intimidate men.

I'll bet dollars to donuts it's not men telling her this.

I met a lot of great men along the way through my work and single life in NYC. I had a blast back then. Those were the days when one night stands were de rigeur and social diseases like VD and aids had not hit the pavement yet. Life was free and easy. Studio 54 was at the height of its glory.

And she wonders why she's single. By her own admission she was too busy riding the cock carousel to settle down and form real lasting relationships.

This summer, I finally decided I wanted 'off the train'. I want a more meaningful life with a nice life partner. But I may have gotten off too late and missed my station. My marketability with men has diminished. I am an aging boomer.

Gee, ya think? At least she's somewhat introspective in recognizing the sexual marketplace for what it is. Or maybe not...

Fast forward to South Beach, a sexy town for singles. Here I befriended a wild and crazy, but lovable Colombian babe and former Miss Colombia who also never walked down the aisle. And more recently, I have become buddies with a Miami based couture designer from Albania and a former fit model. She too never said her vows to a man. And yet another super sexy friend from Milan who does high finance deals with big boys from Europe and the Middle East flies solo. She too turns men's heads in any room she enters and still has not taken one for keeps. Oh, and a Russian vixen/former fitness model in Miami also scares away the men with her icy attitude.

She says all this as if these are positive qualities men look for. Bitchy ice queens? Nope. Hotties who think they're too good for, and god's gift to men? Nope.

So why are all these beautiful babes still single? And where are all the "real men" who want "real women"?

Because of your own fucked up standards and head full of bad wiring. Nowhere in any of this did I read about her sweet personality, how she treats men more than anything besides a glorified sex toy, and what she brings to the table that men don't already have in spades. Her own downfall is the feminist lie that women of high status are attractive the way men of high status are attractive to women. That my friends is projection.

Here's a few choice quotes from the comments:

  • This woman will never have a relationship until she breaks up with herself.

  • Women trade YOUTH AND BEAUTY for LOVE AND COMMITMENT in a marriage. In this regard, the author and her friends are bankrupt.

[–]xstarxstar16 points 12 years ago* [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

WTF did I just read?

The headline to the article: "Why Are Some Of The Best Baby Boomer Women Still Single?"

At first, it appears a mystery to her...

I am wondering why us boomer babes stayed single.

Then she goes on to describe how she rode the carousel during her prime years using guys as her toys. And now she's too old to get the good guys...all of whom in her age bracket can get younger/prettier girls who haven't spent 20 years banging.

Her answer to her single plight:

Maybe that's it! We have it all and that is just too much for most men!...I am always told I intimidate men....I never quite learned how to 'dumb it down'.

You must be kidding. That's the answer? LOL...anytime a girl says she can't act dumb enough to be attractive, you know she's BSC.

For her middle age single guy friends, the answer for their lack of marriage:

These guys are all smart, successful, fit and fun and I think just have been having too much fun traveling the world and leading the good life to settle down or settle.

It's not that they "intimidate" women or some other stupid excuse....it's simply that they've chosen to play free instead of committing.

[–]B_Campbell 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is basically the plot of Sex and the City. Sarah Jessica Parker and her fabulous friends are always wondering why men don't put up with their shit anymore now that they've passed 35.

[–]nojustice1 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

"I was the breadwinner and had no interest in 'settling down'." - I won't settle for anyone not up to my delusional standards. She found a great guy that accepted her but he wasn't good enough.

"Those were the days when one night stands were de rigeur ... Life was free and easy." - Not bragging but I was a slut when I was younger and now that I'm all worn out I want someone to grow old with.

Oh the irony, "No patriarch figure has been found for her." I love that "feminist" want to destroy the patriarchy and traditional family until they are old and single.

[–]redpilldude 22 points23 points24 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This woman has no clue about what men want in a gf. She honestly thinks that having a college degree from an elite university and a good career will attract a man. LOL.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

These guys are all smart, successful, fit and fun and I think just have been having too much fun traveling the world and leading the good life to settle down or settle.

The arrogance is enraging! She impunes men for not giving up and settling (in order to make the lives of her cohorts easier), when she herself refuses to settle despite being a used up husk of a woman! Un-fucking-real.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Kinda reminiscent of the thread posted by the 30 year old party girl in AskMen last week... Except that the woman in the AskMen thread figured out what she wanted 20-30 years sooner than the author of this article.

... I also don't think she's nearly as hot as she thinks she is, but maybe that's just my tastes. Slather on that sunscreen, ladies...

Women always play the 'He's intimidated by my success' card way too often. Bitches, we aren't intimidated, we are TURNED OFF BY THAT SHIT. What part of your bank account or job promotion do you think makes my dick hard?! NOTHING, YOU BIMBO. What makes my dick hard and makes me stay around is when you submit like a whore to me, and ONLY to me.

Women have forgotten the art of being women and men have forgotten the art of being a goddamn man. Fucking stick to your script,k theres nothing wrong with it.

[–]Kombaiya 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Here's my response that I submitted to her in the comments section (which she asked for):

Hi Hope,

You blame men for not being manly enough to handle you yet you come across as the most arrogant person I could ever meet. To marry someone, you want to find a companion and most men could never like someone that is so conceited and fake (name dropping, constant bragging).

Secondly you are using worn out tactics that will not attract the right mindset. It's great that your in good shape for your age but that doesn't mean you can compete with 20 year olds. Besides, 20 year olds are like how you were, they want to play the field and wear stuff that attracts men in it for the same reasons. This is an absolute dead-end for a 57 year old trying to find someone to settle down. In other words, dress your age - That way, men will find your more attractive because you have more going on for you than at first glance. If you flaunt your best bits in tiny dresses then it's only disappointment from there on.

If you think you want to find a debonair 40 year old, you're simply not being realistic. Find a person 60-70 and look for companionship, not someone to beat up on and brag about to. Respect him, he's probably been through a lot more than you give him credit for.

Anyway, this is just a start. I really hope this post makes it through the filters because I'm just trying to help you here.
