I'm not in favor of abuse/violence/rape

Thank god she clarified that.

[–]puaSenator 13 points14 points15 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's seriously the norm in that sub. It's completely taken over by SRS. Like one of the original commenters said, you have to disclaimer everything. There are some threads, where people are discussing a tough issue, and literally half the words in the thread are disclaimers.

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because half of the replies are whiney people griping that they missed a disclaimer. I CAN TURN MY LOGIC CIRCUITS OFF BECAUSE YOU IMPLIED YOU WANT TO RAPE LITTLE BABIES! LALALALA

[–]salami_inferno 12 points13 points14 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Really, she should feel good about herself for being a normal fucking person

[–]ubercoolhipsterguy 5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Just more female narccisism. Female self esteem pre-wall isn't based upon achievement, it's based upon mere existence.

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points22 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

it's amazing that they are recognizing the same common complaints that men have with women in general: hyper sensitivity, the need for ridiculous political correctness and emotional coddling, the focus on victimhood, the disdain for personal accountability and action in favor of wallowing in victimhood (and worse, that calling for personal accountability is the same as victim blaming), seeing every personal preference or opinion as a personal attack or judgement, etc. when trivial feelings are more important than rational, productive discourse, a stagnant circlejerk always arises. hence, the stagnation and inanity of most female-oriented subs. i really used to like twox back in the early days before it was taken over by victim-identity feminists.

[–]JimmyTheIntern 41 points42 points43 points 13 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

Those were honest and introspective comments. Their answers are the female equivalent of many reasons why I cut back on my men's issues time and upped my personal improvement time. Constantly hearing about all the fucked up shit people do to each other is depressing, especially when you can't personally relate to the abuse they have suffered.

It's undoubtedly worse for women since they are forced to discuss everything inside a hamster cage. This comment sums it up perfectly: http://np.reddit.com/r/TwoXChromosomes/comments/1hwn5l/is_anyone_else_sort_of_tired_of_this_sub/caypnvw

[–]FAwhy 12 points13 points14 points 13 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

This is actually very true and can be said about here as well. I too feel likei need to step away from this sub because some of the stuff i read here just feels toxic. There is value to be had from learning about this stuff, but it really is hard to push through the shit to get to the gold. There is far too much noise to filter through, and I'd love for a more streamlined approach focusing on things I should be doing to improve my life instead of how shitty and fucked up people (especially women) can be.

This sub isn't immune from circle jerking.

[–]un-affiliated 11 points12 points13 points 13 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

This sub is for general discussion. There are other ones.

http://www.reddit.com/r/becomeaman

You can also sort by post topic. For instance, you can look only at "red pill theory" and ignore things like "blue pill example" and "rant/venting" which will draw a higher percentage of the posts you seem to dislike. No reason to complain when solutions to your problem exist.

[–]rztzz 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I like this sub but I often wonder about this.

It's sort of like how the people who are able to accurately judge their self worth and pick up on more social nuances, are also more likely to be depressed. Happier people are consistently naive in such areas.

I could write a 12 page memoire right now about how all my friends are social climbers who mostly just care about themselves, but it's probably better for me to write the less accurate 'my fiends are amazing and so thoughtful' memoir.

I don't get harassed (sexually or otherwise) in my daily life. I never had a problem with co-workers, and now that I'm back in college, my professors treat men and women the same.

I actually went through a huge questioning thing with myself over whether I was an attractive woman because I don't get harassed. I was like, it happens to all these other people why have I not noticed it? Is there something about me that is less harass-able than the average woman? What does that mean?

Sometimes you just have to pull your head out of the bubble and think about what this would sound like in the real, non-internet world.

It's quite telling that members of even that subreddit are ashamed of feminist victim-worship and bigotry.

Radical feminist voices dominate gender discussion because people are afraid to speak up against bullies. We all need to remind ourselves that the typical western woman is not a radical feminist (yet); she's just bullied into going with the flow.

Be aggressive and direct when confronting feminist bigots. Don't pepper your statements with apologies and needless qualifiers. Let other people know that they're not alone.

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet 34 points35 points36 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

One time in college, I was having a debate with a girl who was a self-proclaimed feminist. The debate happened in the student commons during lunchtime, and it got pretty heated, so everyone within earshot started tuning in.

At one point, she said that any sexual act not done with fully procedural and informed consent was rape, and I disagreed with this statement. She responded that that was the attitude of rapists and rape apologists.

I put the brakes on right away.

Me: "I want you to call me a rapist."

Her: "What?"

Me: "Call me a rapist. You just said that what I said was the attitude of rapists. That means that you're implying that I am a rapist, so I want you to emphatically call me what you think I am."

Her: "No, you're getting off topic."

Me: "This is not tangential. You've stated, in no uncertain terms, that anyone who believes that consent can occur implicitly is a rapist. So make your accusation at me here, now, in front of everyone."

At this point she glances around, realizing the trap she's in. As it turns out, there were a lot of people nearby willing to speak about some of their own sexual experiences, and how many of their more memorable and enjoyable sexual encounters happened when no one said a fucking word, and they just did what came instinctively to them.

This girl spent so much time staring at her own navel and eating the same rhetoric that other feminists regurgitated that she lost sight of the people she was speaking about.

The internet, not to mention feminists theories and perspectives, are not the terrain. When you stick one of these raving lunatics in a real setting with real people, it becomes clear very quickly that their ideas do not mesh with anything in the real world.

The flavour of discourse is different when you're accountable for what you say.

[–]n0c0ntr0l 10 points11 points12 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm stealing this. I.e. the next time this line of questioning comes up (and it always does), I'm going to pull exactly the same tactic.

[–]DaddyMonster 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ditto.

[–]Jiujitsuismygf 19 points20 points21 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm betting that most of the women who get harassed live in a low income neighborhood with white trash and minorities. I also bet they are actually NOT that attractive so this harassment is the only form of attention they get.

[–]Pecanpig 12 points13 points14 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Those might be the majority of women who get actually harassed, but I would question whether they are the ones who complain about harassment the most.

[–]r_rships_account 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I don't think the trust-fund debutantes of /r/TwoX live in low-income neighbourhoods.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The only female acquaintance I have that complains about being harassed is an attention seeker and a bit of a whore, and also lives in a low income area. Seems to fit the bill perfectly.

[–]Terrible_Voice_Actor 18 points19 points20 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

TL;DR - Being politically correct is exhuasting. And wastes everyone's time.

That about sums up the entire thread and why people don't like TwoX.

[–]r_rships_account 19 points20 points21 points 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I am surprised and impressed by the support that this post is getting on /r/TwoX. Maybe there is hope for humanity after all.

It is very telling when you go through a men's forums and you see a wide range of topics like: hair loss, workout tips, homosexuality, male sexual questions, sports performance, penis size, etc. It is what you expect. A ton of different topics with a bias towards some questions/discussion on very private matters that you would feel uncomfortable discussing with people face-to-face and you would like to have the anonymity of the Internet.

But when you look at a public woman's forum such as TwoX, it is heavily dominated by stuff on sexual harassment/assault, needing an abortion, and boyfriend problems. None of these issues should even be in a women-only forum because men have valid input. Some of the rare posts with a young girl asking about whether it is normal for her body to be doing X during puberty, that is suitable for a women-only fourm, because you wouldn't expect men to have any clue on the subject (also, it's an embarassing topic that people may feel more comfortable talking to the same sex about, even with the anonymity of the Internet).

Give her some credit.

She's not mad at men for not "harassing" her; she was confused, because feminist bullies have tried convincing her that the western world is a deadly warzone for attractive women.

[–]puaSenator 15 points16 points17 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ironically, these neo-feminists aren't even that attractive for the most part. I believe they are creating this world in their head where they are constantly being sexually harassed so they can feel/pretend that guys actually want them, sexually.

They don't want to face the reality that no one is sexually interested in them.

[–]jakethesnake76 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes they are creating this world in their head , if you manage to get one of them out of their own head where this script is running, you can then have a real conversation with them. Atleast till they slip back in..

[–]5 Endorsed ContributorStayinghereforreal 32 points33 points34 points 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

feminist bullies have tried convincing her that the western world is a deadly warzone for attractive women.

The safest people in the history of mankind are constantly claiming they lack safety.

It is almost as though there is some alarm that is constantly ringing, whether the danger is present or not. Almost as though....

[–]r_rships_account 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The safest people in the history of mankind are constantly claiming they lack safety.

Women, Jews, Americans, etc., etc.

It almost seems like the sacrifice of liberty for security isn't worth it.

[–]mctowelie 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

To be fair the Jews have had people out to get them; their safety has been legitimately threatened many times throughout history. What's different about the Jews is that they focus on self improvement instead of focusing on acting the part of the victim. Jewish culture emphasizes education and personal initiative, which is why they are a powerful economic and political group

[–]r_rships_account 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

To be fair the Jews have had people out to get them; their safety has been legitimately threatened many times throughout history.

Perhaps. Not in 21st-century America.

[–]mctowelie 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Sure their security hasn't been threatened in the U. S. but they don't really claim to be unsafe anymore. The only Jews who do make that claim are the ones in Israel, and they are surrounded by hostile nations

[–]r_rships_account 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

they don't really claim to be unsafe anymore.

They have numerous organisations (B'nai Brith, the ADL) dedicated to claiming exactly that.

The fact that it's so heavily upvoted is quite moving. Although I have my suspicions that the majority of the 2x userbase is 14-20y.o. girls.

In other words, all that shit that they upvoted before will continue to get upvoted. The community is too big, and the main userbase vastly outnumbers the good users.

When this sub started, most of the posts were of the "Red Pill Theory" variety. Now, about 40% of the posts I see are narrations of somebody's pickup attempt in a bar in Scotland (or Tennessee, or NJ).

When this sub started, it was like any normal sub: you didn't have "Endorsed Contributors" controlling the discourse through the (rather beta, actually) sycophancy of others.

When this sub started, I never saw any censorship.

All that has changed.

[–]Boss_Monkey 7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

After taking the red pill, I have nothing but pity for women without strong men to lead them. This twox community example underscores their collective curse. They are literally complaining that there is nothing but meaningless complaining going on around that community. The meta-level-complaint is as good as it gets for them, they can not escape the gravity of their own vapid interests. Complaining about the overall situation of their communal existence is as meaningful as it gets. But, the complaint is like a fish having the realization that it is wet: miraculously insightful, yet futile.

It highlights a difference between how male dominated and how female dominated groups behave. It's relevant for that reason alone because this sub advocates exposing the real differences between men and women.

A better question would be whether or not a link to this thread is useful and practical.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points16 points 13 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Because TwoX has become a soap box of victim hood and most women have normal happy hassle-free lives of self respect who have nothing to complain about because they are female.

[–]FAwhy -3 points-2 points-1 points 13 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Serious question, what do we have to complain about as men?

[–]puaSenator 19 points20 points21 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Unbalanced criminal sentencing
Alimony
Courts default favor women in custody issues
Draft
Lack of social services
Can't take kids to the park or get accused as a pedo
False rape accusations
High suicide rates
Feminising of our culture Not having a dick made out of chocolate that ejaculates diamonds

[–]noblepaladin 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When you look at a men's forum, you typically don't see much complaining. You have male related topics such as how to gain muscle, hair loss, erectile disfunction, etc, the standard "embarassing shit that I can only talk about anonymously on the Internet". That is the purpose of a men-only or women-only forum. You will have some MRA stuff, but not much. But women-only forums tend to be dominated by sexual harassment, abortion, and boyfriend problems. Most of those conversations are not even "women-only" topics because men are just as informed and experienced on the subject as women.

You'll be waiting for a long time then... Girls don't have to do that because they have guys approaching them. They dont have to take on the risk and have learned that this allows them to do what they want and still have plausible deniability. They never have to take responsibility for their actions because its never their fault. Why would they ever give that up?
