I have been pondering this for awhile. There will certainly be a large number of people that will claim dating will go extinct over night. I disagree with this thought. I believe men and women yearn for meaningful and fulfilling relationships. It is my belief that more often than not, sexual impulses and desires impede the ability to find meaningful relationships. I believe men and women alike would still feel a void living totally in isolation. I certainly do not believe that the sociality of our species is entirely a result of sexual attraction.

So having said that, if sexual attraction/repulsion disappeared over night due to some weird airborne virus or something, how would your personal situation change? Would you find your dating life would become easier or more difficult? Are there people you would now give a chance who you would otherwise be incompatible with? Do you feel you would be treated worse because people no longer find you attractive or are no longer trying to win your approval, or would you feel you would be treated better because you are otherwise overlooked?

I realize this is likely an unpopular opinion, but I honestly believe dating, real relationships, and the world in general, would be better in every aspect of this desire vanished over night.
