You have to be "cool" within whatever niche it is you are aiming to find girls at. What that entails depends on the niche you aim for. There are plenty of girls who will drop to their knees if I offer to share a line lol. That's all it takes many times, but then that's for guys in the party crowd, which is a minority of the guys on this sub.

What it comes down to is, if you're an attractive, confident guy, what you're doing is cool.

You can be attractive and confident all you want but if all you talk about is anime and Fortnite girls won't be interested in the vast majority of cases.

There's outliners obviously... but RP is about playing odds. There's more hot party girls than hot anime girls.

The guys trying to imitate what the attractive, confident guys are doing without having those 2 things are completely wasting their time.

This I agree with, trying to just imitate shit is beginner stuff. It's okay to fake it 'til you make it but that should be for beginners only. The goal should be for it to actually be natural.

Oh and the people who really need advice on cool, the IT guys who get a raise and buy a loaded 2020 toyota camry because it's fuel efficient. They're hopeless cases.

But see this is the majority of TRP that is why I think Atlas's description of "build a better beta" is bang on and exactly why TRP guys need to be told to chill the fuck out and learn to have fun instead of being unfuckable uptight tradcons.

no ive definitely seen very plain/somewhat unattractive guys with some niche "cool" factor clean up in their chosen scene. sounds like you've never been involved deeply in an actual scene with a weird or alternative mode of aesthetics

i agree that you can't just put on a costume and expect the same results as another guy, but its definitely not because of looks alone

Most guys are average, in my opinion. So if they were to improve themselves and apply themselves socially, and understanding how the dating sphere works, then they could increase their odds. Sitting on your ass and not doing anything isn't going to attract you to any woman honestly.

The nice part about TRP is that it pushes people to be the best they can be. Even with the whole 'just lift bro' stuff, it works because it at least gets men to start being proactive. Exercising and productivity can bring along the well-needed confidence for some men

I disagree.

Back when TRP was all about Pick Up Artists (PUAs) and the Mystery Method (early 2000's), it laid out a structured system that young men could follow steps by steps, like stages in video games with and end boss, in order to go from someone who could not leave their mom's basement to people who could hold a conversation to any stranger, not only for romantic purposes.

Secondly, women are red pilled very early with their whole environment telling them to be careful of males because "they're only interested in one thing". Whereas men are taught to overcare and overrespect females. "never hit one, be nice, etc."

So that's the two, among many reasons why TRP is seen as useless by them who have already been red pilled early and analyze its advices as basic common sense, like you seem to be doing OP, while it contains many useful advices to them who need to go trough the pill swallow process still.

And finally, OP you say that TRP is detrimental in your title, but you don't detail how/why, and detrimental to what/whom?

The biggest failure of TRP is for average and under average men to imitate what they are not, it's like "fake it until you get laid" There's a guy who's becoming famous even in MGTOW this AMS guy gives advice on how to be "cool".

I see "cool" advice as useless bc they guide you to be who you aren't to try to get laid. If you are going to be the best version for yourself it has to be for your own mental peace and well-being, if you try to be "cool" for getting laid you'll be doing any single thing you come across and getting even frustration if you don't get like like top 20% men when trying the harder.

Top 20% men are not doing what they do for getting laid (they are not desperate for sex to go to the gym etc) bc that's the result of 2 things 1. Their look and 2. Resources they have. Hitting the gym won't fix your face. Whatever you do to improve yourself has to be for your own benefit and health.

This kind of issue is where TRP (the reddit forum) fails. GLL addressed all of this stuff forever ago, in a way that was simpler/clear, actionable, accounted for different subcultures/scenes, etc.

Where I disagree with you and/or think you are also engaging in unclear language is here:

You can go be an attractive, confident gymrat, club guy, successful corporate guy, music scene guy, nerdy video game streamer, nerdy MTG player, anime convention guy.

Confidence is super nebulous, no different than "cool." It describes something we all kind of understand and can recognize, but how to get there isn't clear to everyone seeking help. Which is why there's tons of awkward gymrats who don't get laid on the lvl they could, despite having the physique for it.

Basically the "cool" advice is absolutely needed, but yeah it doesn't precede or isn't truly seperable from the issue of looking good. And tbh no one on TRP reddit should be advising anyone on coolness
